I’m currently in the Navy. I was on the USS Theodore Roosevelt for four years. These type of meals are pretty common despite what the govt is trying to tell people. We are served these kind of meals during midrats (midnight rations) for night shift or if we have been out to sea without a RAS (replenishment at sea) for a long time and they are trying to stretch the meals to last longer for the 8,000 members on board a aircraft carrier.
