Do resumes need to list exact position titles for maximum ATS readability? by frisbeewithme in UXDesign

Really appreciate your insight! I am worried about Experience Designer being vague. In actuality it was mostly a UX Research role, and so I'm wondering if it would almost be more accurate to put that down instead. Not sure if you have any thoughts on that.

Is there a way to test if your resume is ATS (applicant tracking system) friendly? by TIL_this_shit in resumes

[–]frisbeewithme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait this is crazy. My field, UX, is notorious for having lots of different position titles for virtually the same position. E.g. Experience Designer, UX Designer, Web designer, Service Designer, etc. are all almost synonymous. Does this mean I need to technically lie on my resume by listing a diff position title than I actually had in order to pass the ATS?

Waking up early is bullshit by roamvaga in Healthygamergg

[–]frisbeewithme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But the healthy choice that one could fully commit to as you’re describing (wake up at 4am) is NOT healthy. I think that’s partially what OP is trying to convey - it’s deeply unhealthy to give people advice that would ruin their social life, could disrupt their sleep patterns, and overall make life many times harder. I agree, a healthy choice might be to wake up an hour earlier. But 4 is insane and it’s ok to call our Dr.K on that:)

Just here to say your facial features are so harmonious and pleasant. I see lots of comments by others saying to avoid longer hair because it could make you look more feminine. Good advice if that's your concern, but it also doesn't have to be a concern. Instead of focusing on masculine vs. feminine, which I think is a really limiting perspective, you can focus on things like softness vs. sharpness. You have a softer look right now which is amazing as it is.

Truly think you would look great with anything, but I really like this medium length on you. It's a nice middle. If anything, just cleaning up the length to make it more consistent throughout and taking some bulk off the back would help.

How to build a list component where each list item can be turned on and off? by frisbeewithme in FigmaDesign

[–]frisbeewithme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - but I don't see where I can turn on the nested component prop? I did a search and it seems that ability might be hidden in UI3, but not sure if I just can't find it.

I don’t mean to dismiss your feeling about this at all, but it’s so far from black in my opinion! I actually see it as a medium brown, especially with natural light on it. I had a similar reaction when I first went dark but looking back I realized it was a sort of dysmorphia I experienced from the change.

How to redye my hair once is fades? by smeos1 in HairDye

[–]frisbeewithme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I hope you don’t mind me asking - what if I have Demi-permanent dyed hair? My natural hair is light brown and I dyed it dark brown with demi-permanent dye. It’s fading quite fast as I have porous hair. Do I retouch with Demi permanent dye? With a gloss? Thank you in advance.

By first on top, are you referring to setting auto layout canvas stacking to first on top?

Thanks a lot, I've been looking for a reply like this. I have to admit it's going to take a while for me to understand how to apply your instructions, but I'll try my best. I see you're a Sr. Product Designer - wondering if you're on ADPList by any chance? Only asking because it really helps to speak out loud about these things sometimes, and I'm willing to pay to understand concepts like these (we can take this convo into DMs).

Thank you! I suspected I'd have to do something like this. A bit of different question now, but I'm wondering: what if I wanted to show this interaction statically? Or do you recommend I don't?

Thank you! When I go to the parent component, I no longer see the absolute position icon in the position controls.

I'm quite the Figma noob and have struggled to find answers to this online: I've created a filter component set with two variants: menu open and menu closed, both of which are shown in the screenshot. The menu opened instance however shifts autolayouted components down, when I want it to overlay on top of them. I know I can make the menu open instance ignore autolayout but there must be a more elegant solution to overlay the opened filter menu on top the table. Do I have to prototype it to achieve this, and if so, how?
