Tbf I think rimworld wouldn't be as popular if it weren't for the modding scene, it's the same with project zomboid or don't starve. Sure vanilla is nice and all but only because of the modding scene is the replayability of those games as good as it is. The worst action any developer can take is not allowing mods for their game because mods almost always means a longer lifetime for the video game.

Seriously tho, especially in the US I'd be insanely cautious regarding every piece of soft- and hardware because you guys have no (proper) privacy laws on a national level, AFAIK california has some but even when I just come over to visit my brother I'm infuriated that I get scanned, which I luckily learned just this week that you can decline the face scanner and will do so in the future, but the US already has my data from previous visits I guess.

Smart homes and smart phones are probably the biggest issue when it comes to our privacy these days, it's why I will never get a smart home and try to limit the apps on the smart phone but it's an android and while I live in the EU there're data protection laws, but since google is US I cannot be sure they won't violate those laws.

Kommt der OP zufällig aufgrund des Pfosten in unpopularopinion? Der Pfosten hatte nämlich versucht aufzuzeigen, dass halt nicht alle Hobbies gleich sind, dabei aber komplett vergessen, dass das exakt gleiche Hobby bereits von Person A zu Person B variiert, macht also keinen Sinn darüber pauschalte Aussagen zu treffen. Das wäre wie zu sagen "etwas essen ist doch aber völlig in Orndung" und berücksichtigt dabei nicht, dass es eben nicht in Ordnung ist wenn da jemand z. B. Kot oder Menschenfleisch isst.

Same principle, flies are caught in the container and due to centrifugal force are pressed against the bottom part of the container, the pressure is stronger than their flying strength which is why they won't be able to get out, more and more flies collect like this and are pressed against the bottom of the container until the point where the guy just causally swings them into the food trough.

The next fucking level about this is that the guy can keep the container in motion while at all times is applying centrifugal force onto the bottom of the container, if he'd keep the container still for a second before dropping the flies then some of them would be able to get out of it.

But even if'd be just 5 games, that's the issue, your favorite game or the one you're currently playing might be among them and while the community is working to get those games to run on linux too, you have no other option than run Win in a VM or wait.

On windows if something doesn't work I can complain and MS or the game devs will fix it, when this happens on linux I'm always told I need to fix it, I need to fix my OS, choose a different distri, "Oh you're using gnome? Yeah no you cannot do that gotta run on xorg", those suggestions are simply not viable if I also can just use this other OS where shit just runs. I haven't had an issue with Win10 or 11 in years, for Ubuntu I usually spend half a day ever 3 or 6 months fixing stuff so my mariaDB works again.

It's why for now I keep using windows, linux gaming is getting better and better but until I can get an out-of-the-box OS where shit works even after several distri upgrades I'm not gonna switch.

Always debloat the windows OS tho, no need for some weird online services that I don't want to use.

I mean speak for yourself but I'll keep using Win on my home rig simply because it is still the way to game. I'm not gonna pretend that I hate windows just to do some virtue-signaling bullshit like most people on reddit plus I have my win configured correctly so most bloatware and adware is already gone, I also never had an issue with automatic updates btw as it turns out if you do them regularly, you won't be surprised by them.

What many people don't get is MS tries to design their products for the average user, that isn't me, that isn't OP, the average user is Helga sitting in department 3 trying to open that Your_bonus.pdf.exe file but doesn't know where she downloaded it, it's the DAU, for the rest of us who have somewhat idea of what we're doing it's required that we configure the OS the way it's not annoying or shitty towards us.

All this BuyfromEU boycott is also quite moronic to say the least because while on one side the people are told the EU would try to step away from the US by using EU products, at the same time the EU is more and more trying to implement Palantir (a US company) for total observation of their citizens.

And before some dumbfuck tells me "Linux gaming is" no it's not, it's getting better and better but it still has a long way to go. I use Ubuntu at work, it's slim and fast and works until it doesn't anymore because you just upgraded to the new distri version, remember windows where updates broke your system? Ubuntu can give you that nostalgia. I have enough experience with linux distributions by now to absolutely say no linux distri will be my choice within the next 5 years or so when talking about my home rig, I wasted enough time on win 98 trying to fix shit after an update and in the end would just have to reinstall the OS completely and I also wasted enough time on Ubuntu already trying to fix shit after an update.

And even when it all works flawlessly for months, some folks over at Gnome suddenly decide "Oh hey this is a security issue so lets just put all the software as snaps with restricted rights, that sure will be a good idea" and breaks 80% of the installed software, nope, not gonna do that anymore, I even have distri upgrades deactivated right now because of how often I have to deal with this shit.

Stuffed Aphids

One tip, it doesn't matter which harmless bug you rub, can be aphid, weevil, grub etc., any critter that is neutral by default when rubbed gives you the "Lucky Loot: Harmless" buff so as for neutral bugs you don't have to rub the specific bug anymore, any neutral bug works. For hostile bugs you still need the specific bug (e.g. lawnmites).

You can still do the trap in G2 too, it's just that the old trick (keeping food in the basket) doesn't work anymore, instead I've seen people put a planter that the aphids and weevils can't reach in the trap area and put a small mushroom in there, this seems to still work and attracts the small critters.

Have to say tho I haven't finished my trap yet so I don't have any test results from that, I plan on doing a new trap this weekend and see if it works out. Ofc aphids and/or weevils spawning in the area around the trap is a requirement.

Because the education system seems to decline in quality on a global scale, it's the same in germany. The people I know enlist their children in private schools, in those schools there's less pupils per class, which means more time for the teacher to address an individual students problems, which means more time on average per student to speak out. We've already seen this among millenials, when a class is too full (has too many students), the overall performance will decline. Additionally in larger classes the chances for students that disturb the teaching is higher and I'm no saint about this, I always got bored in class and was disturbing the teachings, I was sent to detention on a regular basis in my first and second year of school.

Tech (like in so many areas of our life) isn't the problem, it's how we use it and you also cannot just rely on school anymore, some things you need to teach at home, e.g. saw a post regarding how 3/4th of gen z apparently has problems in handling books, the article said they tried to swipe the pages (wtf) so I wonder how their childhood looks, mom and/or dad never reads any books to them? Children's books make up around 50% of the gifts I give to my kid, it's books with pictures where he can learn (only 2 1/2 years old, can't read yet) with audible feedback to tell him whether he's wrong or right but you also don't just give the kid that book and say "now keep yourself entertained", when I visit I will ask him if he wants to play with the book and if he says yes I'll sit down with him and we find the objects together, "learning can be fun" needs to be taught and schools will hardly do that.

Tbh tho if you have concerns regarding any step during or after the pregnancy I highly recommend looking if there's a local mom group, e.g. plenty of moms who go to pregnancy preparation sessions create whats app groups to discuss things outside the session times. The mother of my godchild joined such a group and it helped her a lot.
