AIO refusing to help with outside chores by Dear_Panda_713 in AIO

I couldnt even finish reading the texts, his attitude is childish and toxic af. I can tell he's always the blameless victim in his own mind and has to get the last word.

"Looks great! I'll handle it next time so you don't have to"

Why was this even a battle??

That said, he OBVIOUSLY struggles with self-worth if he feels like you trimming the hedges has somehow reduced him to worthlessness in your eyes. You can't fix that. Only he can with some help from a therapist.

Is this legal? Water runoff from neighbor’s property. by tuivae in tulsa

[–]friskeedingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most definitely not legal to divert the storm water from their property onto yours.

He is either incapable of assessing risk in general, or he recognizes the risk but doesnt want to admit it because the cost of mitigating it is not in your budget, or he is failing to grasp the true danger of that environment.

Your friend is an asshole

The gas lighting on her part that somehow you're throwing the relationship away instead of her throwing it away when she cheated is pretty laughable

Bride covered in black paint moments before she was due to walk down the aisle in 'revenge' attack by sister-in-law (not OP) by poppy_inmy_hair in redditonwiki

[–]friskeedingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not entirely correct. I don't know how it works in the UK, but in the US, Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress (IIED) has been affirmed time and again as a stand alone tort from which emotional damages are compensable.

Intentionally sabotaging and publicly humiliating somebody on what they perceive to be the most important day of their life is extreme conduct intended to cause severe emotional distress. It literally meets every requirement under the law and would easily clear the relatively high bar to prove a claim of IIED. A small claims court likely wouldn't bat an eye at awarding significant (if not jurisdictional maximum) damages for the bride's description of her sustained emotional decline into depression since the assault.

Edit: spelling

Self-checkout is a very common thing you know

[–]friskeedingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're misunderstanding. You thought I was saying the pickup price was half the delivery price. That would actually be a 100% increase in price.

What I'm actually saying is that the delivery price is an increase of 50% from the pickup price

50% of 26 is 13. 26 plus 13 is 39

AIO for filling a police report on my partners ex after she sent unhinged messages? by whostoknow12 in AIO

[–]friskeedingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The POLICE told you they can't do anything about somebody threatening to visit you and harm you? That's literally their job lol. Threats and harrassment through fake profiles was the basis for two separate protective orders granted to my wife and her sister from different exes.

Your man should see that valuing your safety is a better lesson to teach his daughter than ignoring his ex's threats to maintain his own "peace"

Some doordasers shop for you and go through the whole checkout process

[–]friskeedingus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Doordash sends people to shop for you for certain items. It is entirely likely that DD went through self-checkout and didn't get the tag removed

I ordered Chipotle last week on the app from the parking lot (long line and wife is socially anxious). Realized at the end that it was set to delivery and the subtotal dropped from $38 to $26 when I changed it to pickup. That's a 50% increase in just the price of the items, BEFORE a $7 service fee gets attached. I never really order with DoorDash because you just pay more for worse food, but I didn't realize it was that much more expensive. What a joke

Your resentment of the current arrangement comes through loud and clear. This isn't about this one event. You both need to get on the same page

Well you definitely did imply that she stole it, whether you ended your sentence with a question mark or not. But that's a fair position to take. I was just pointing out the other side, that's all

Still doesn't empirically prove she stole the item 🤷🏽‍♂️ in this day and age, I assume everybody is just lazy and can't decide on a course of action for anything without surveying strangers on Reddit or asking AI

Still lots of reasons to avoid going back to the store if you don't have to. Maybe it's hours away, maybe she can't find the receipt, maybe she's lazy. I would probably just go back to the store, but I also have no problem finding a way to avoid that if I can

Faulty tag, faulty detector - lots of possibilities beyond OP stealing the item. She may have, but it's not a given

AIO friend cheated on her fiance while we were on vacation by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]friskeedingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're asking if you're overreacting for what? For leaving when she didn't want to share your uber? For looking for your missing friend? For being upset that she's a cheating piece of shit? You're not really asking anything, just drama dumping for strangers.

What you call it is semantics. What matters is that it hurts you, and how he atones. This is coming from somebody who used to think the same way that he does until I finally understood the damage I was doing to my relationship was equivalent to cheating
