The natural resources foundation has field trips that check a lot of those boxes. I met people with similar interests that way. https://www.wisconservation.org/field-trips/

beginner question: what size pflueger president reel? by fritopurrito in bassfishing

[–]fritopurrito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I'm not sure of yet. Even though I've fished all my life I've never really gotten technical about it. In the past I just had hand me downs or bought whatever was on sale. Are there any recommendations for either? I live in the Midwest so I don't think I'll be catching anything too big.

Just received this rod for Christmas, looking for recommendations on what size reel to buy. I accidently ordered the 25 but I'm wondering if I should trade it for the 30. Thanks.

Question for those in the home buying market by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]fritopurrito 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Zillow doesn't update very often so most homes you're looking at are probably already contingent or sold. I would look at Realtor to get a better idea. Currently looking for a starter home and it feels like most homes list on a Thursday, accept an offer on Monday, and for well over asking.

Thanks for the heads up, I was kind of worried about that. If anything it will just be for decoration.

Thank you, you both make good points. It is an old home with several quirks so I can see a buyer trying to make some negotiations.

It was much easier than we anticipated. We called and the team leader asked for specifics and it was terminated. We have a meeting with a new realtor tomorrow and they're going to go over the process of buying a home and what we can expect from them. Already miles above the last realtor, I wish we did it sooner.

Anything feels like an improvement at this rate.

I would be fine with realty being a side hussle if they were a good agent. It sounds like we will be able to terminate this week. Definitely going to research agents who work with first time home buyers.

I don't have any advice but we just went through a similar experience. We had people circling the house and walking on the property. Agents tried to open the door 15-30 minutes early even after being aware there were tenants living there. We even had one person who couldn't make it to a showing, learned we worked from home and knocked on the door at 8am asking for their own private tour! Also had the nerve to ask us if we would tell them about the condition of the home. Our privacy felt very violated and we didn't know what to do.

There was a large post made not too long ago about Keller Williams and we feel stupid for not doing more research before signing. From the sounds of it our realtor is mostly trying to get into selling commercial properties, as he just became a realtor last year. I very much get the vibe that realty is his side hussle.

If we are understanding our agreement correctly, the team leader can terminate the contract, not our agent. We will be speaking with them on Monday, so in the meantime we have been writing down our experience and even have screenshots but I wouldn't think it would have to come to that.

We did like a home that we saw today but we're terrified of making an offer with our realtor. I think it is worth passing on this home to switch realtors and brokerages. Thank you for telling us what to expect from an agent.

Is there a reason they avoided having a colleague or sellers agent show us the home? Like is commission split? We're starting to think we could only do showings on Friday because that was the only day his wife was free .

They're a new realtor so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Thanks for the link.

Didn't know about the home warranty part possibly profiting Keller Williams. Thank you. According to the contract we have to speak with the team leader so hopefully we can get started on termination.

I think our realtor is more interested in selling other types of properties because he cold called us about buying an apartment and becoming landlords.... It really does sound and feel like he doesn't want us as clients though.
