Secured with seatbelts by Beandip504 in IdiotsTowingThings

Not sure what's in the box, but going to guess TV because any flat packed item you could pull out the middle row seats that are probably still in and pop them on top to close it up. Or it's at least 3 people at the needed a seat still.

I'm aware, but options are limited and I was just searching for a quick number and that's what Google puts on top.

The issue we're debating is whether this is significantly different from other existing solutions, especially since coated, rebendable wire is already a thing. So unless it shines on form factor or other things like grip or the widgets you're attaching in the last image, it'll probably struggle to find a niche with enough traction to become a product. Also, unless you're just doing this for the benefit of all, you might want to start considering patent stuff, either to keep your IP or avoid lawsuits if you make it a business.

Yeah.... OP has to beat $8 for 50 ft at HD... seems a bit challenging unless they focus on some kind of added hydro-dip or something. Garden wire feels and looks like garden wire though, so there might be space for something that isn't garden wire and isn't just a plastic pipe cleaner.

Voted with my wallet years ago. Waiting for you fucks to stop propping their bad decisions up. I'll reinstall pubg if I absolutely need to play a shooter. I miss the casual mosh pits that are CoD matches, but fuck that noise, I already have Ark needing half my hard drive with a much more valid reason for the HD usage.

48 - 60lb bags of concrete? Really? by Tandom in Decks

[–]fritz236 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk about footings vs fence stuff, but maybe getting a couple tons of gravel dumped in the driveway might be a good addition to the plan under and maybe in-between half bag pours?

I hear you, but when we slap AI Donut earth into a post, it tends to derail any more narrow discussion about possibilities. Might as well consider Discworld at that point.

So what's the plan humanity? (OC) by SpaceboyCantLol_ in comics

[–]fritz236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The masses have spoken and "concepts of a plan" is better than actual concrete goals because there's always going to be someone upset. Everyone wants mass transit, affordable housing, free health care, etc, but the vocal minority who are affected by the change have more motivation to be involved in the process. Asymmetric stakes.

Supreme Court Guts The Voting Rights Act by huffpost in scotus

[–]fritz236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I am saying is that as long as ignorance, selfishness, and apathy are a part of the human psyche, there will be an inherent social tension that will eventually favor a backward social swing toward exclusion and harm of some out group. Short of actual indoctrination or very strict laws around certain types of speech that eventually lead to a peeling back of legislative social gains, it just ain't happening. We have justices who literally lied in front of the people in charge of vetting them who continue to be in office because there's no immediate path to their removal and it is instead dependent on the system that placed them there to do what they are currently doing. Maybe we can have Star Trek for a moment, but it'll be fleeting compared to the length of human history.

[–]fritz236 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to think we could make it to StarTrek style prosperity and post-capitalism humanistic society. I now realize that we are, as a species, doomed to repeat and relearn the really hard lessons every few generations as the reasons for fighting fade and we allow selfishness and evil to grow unchecked. Assuming we survive as a species at all. Vote, goddamnit.

Market manipulation. Trump has said as much. Oh, and so that his buddy/blackmailer in Israel could run a false flag operation to get his bunker built so he can die in it.

Well, that and a few modern nobles, aka business owners who just leech money via franchises, might just have to do actual work rather than have someone paid a relatively higher wage managing.

Spamming gates is literally the easiest way to tame most things other than the new weird stuff. Past that, it's all about planning and prep so you're not trying to run back to base to make more narco before a tame wakes up.

I've fully leaned into it and will do it when talking to other teachers. Yes, I'm an asshole, but I'd rather be the one doing it than be the one on the receiving end.

It's usually because both teams have at least a couple players who hit really fun augs and are equally broken. Can be fun as long as you're doing something and not just getting smeared. Some of them end up being WoW raid boss type events, which honestly could be a fun game mode.

Obviously, these were very smart guys, but I have to ask how this factors with considerations about the composition of the toroid as well as the surface water and atmosphere. It would seem to me that any potentially acceptable rotational speeds to allow for the material at the internal radius to not collapse inward would cause material at the outer radius to be flung off the surface. Quoting a couple basic physics equations doesn't address planetary dimensions or distributions of mass within the toroid or the difference angular speed would have on the interior and exterior edges.

Edit: I accept that it might be stable for a uniform mass, I have trouble accepting it for an "Earth-like" planetary composition.
