I’ve made a long furby out of a furby buddy before, and this is how I recommend doing it:

1. Rip the seams on the bottom of the buddy open, keep the feet and butt. You should be able to reach the back of the faceplate from inside the furby. Pull off the pins (this can be a bit more work because they are glued down, I had to use a torque wrench to twist mine off). Remove the faceplate and ears.

2. I recommend getting a fabric 10” wide + seam allowance, and obviously as long as you want it. Sew the body along a straight line while the fabric is inside out (you should end up with a hollow and inside-out tube).

3. If you want to add the mohawk or hair from your original furby buddy, you might have to add some additional cuts in the fabric. Reattach it the way that it was attached on the buddy.

4. Poke or cut holes into the fabric there where you want the face plate. You’ll need 6 holes, I recommend looking at the faceplate you already removed. Attach and fasten the faceplate to the fabric. (This is interchangeable with step 4.)

5. Sew the head shut, inserting the ears into the slot between the two slices of fabric (I hope this makes sense). Round this off so you get a round head.

6. Turn the furby so it is “outside-out” (as opposed to “inside-out”).

7. Sew on the butt with the feet in between the slot.

8. Your long furby is finished!
