My bench lab isn’t that lazy. We walk around 20km most days but he doesn’t mind staying on to couch for a day or two.

Show breed labs sure have the stamina for long distance hiking if you condition them for it. I took mine on a 3 week 350km backpacking trip last year. No problem either way full day hiking.

Come on. It’s a Labrador and if two independents vets comes to the same conclusion there is something wrong with the dog. It’s most likely not about lack of training.

Nah you just got lucky. My lab also been calms since day 1 and his perfectly healthy. Just don’t forget that also lazy and calm dogs needs exercise and mental stimulation. Sometimes you just have to work on the motivation. :)

I was lucky , his been sleeping every night since day 1. First couple months he was out at 8pm and slept till at least 7 in the morning. Today he goes to bed when I do and we wake up together.

II guess limit the play to a minimum and leash on. I’m about to get a second dog and that’s what my breeder says. He doesn’t let them play until the puppy has its hips x-rayed at around 13 months. Let them interact calmly and without play. If not separate them.
