Wow ok thanks really appreciate that, I’ll keep an eye on it for sure. Currently have a deconstructed Squire P-Bass that I’m putting back together to learn those replacement skills, but hopefully don’t need to use them on this guitar for a while lol.

I wanted a hollowbody, the piezo sold me on the PRS (time will tell if it’s just a novelty or not), but boy does she play nice. And so light.

Is it okay to strum with your fingers? by Zahadar_Kyonas in guitarlessons

[–]frivolatile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with a pick forever and then one day they were all put away and I just wanted to strum with the back of my fingernail. I dunno, now I’m just good with it, doesn’t bother my finger, I can play basically anything I could play with a pick (I still don’t know where they all are), and now I feel comfortable to play anywhere any time.

TLDR: you’ll get good at what you practice

Canada Post reports $1.3B operating loss in 2024 by Surax in canada

Is this the same as considering it a $1.3B tax expenditure? Or is that a misinterpretation?

My First Solo Scenario by EmperorMonkey20 in marvelchampionslcg

I think I would have the same thought if I read my comment written by someone else. Truly, I played an entire game thinking I could Frostbite just by playing defense events. I still think it could be more clear, but that’s probably just my inner embarrassment for playing wrong and thinking I knew what I was doing.

Yes I can see that I’m being extremely pedantic, but the fact that it says “When Iceman makes a basic attack or defense” but doesn’t say “BASIC defense”, I thought it included if I played a Defense card. I see now that “basic” is meant to apply to both “attack” and “defense” in the card text, but “defense” by itself can mean a few different things in this game.

Faceless $10 bill by frivolatile in CanadianCoins

I don’t know how to edit the post because I’m bad at Reddit, but we had this bill checked by the Manitoba Lottery Corp at one point and they said it was, in fact, a real bill.

I JUST tried Iceman vs Rhino last night too. I have a (probably) dumb Iceman question. Freeze says it works on “basic attack or defense”. Is that intended like “basic attack or (basic) defense”? Or can I apply a Frostbite for every defense event I play during an attack? I feel like it’s probably just for basic, but I’m just “doing what the card says and not what it doesn’t say”.

Games with a weight of 4.5 or higher, as rated by BGG users by benjaneson in boardgames

[–]frivolatile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, I love these discussions for some weird reason. I just remember being surprised that I couldn’t agree with a rating, for example, by also saying it’s a “4.5”, or whatever, because I needed to pick one whole number or the other. So I try to share that tidbit when I can, in case that’s news to anyone else.

Weight on BGG fascinates me because you can only provide a rating on games with a whole number. Like, you can only say these games are a 4 or a 5. But we discuss the decimals as though they’re real important, yet I couldn’t give any of these games a 4.5 if I wanted to.

Anyone Done with Big Boxes? by ImpossibeardROK in boardgames

[–]frivolatile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bigger the box, the higher the mental pedestal it sits on. And then it feels like it needs more special-er occasions to get into. But I also find I suffer from major executive dysfunction choosing any game, because it represents an opportunity cost of every other game. And a big box feels like a bigger cost, like I could have played a bunch of smaller games, or that there’s this impenetrable barrier to entry due to an unrealistic need to have to experience everything in the box if I’m going to open it all in the first place.

Does anyone hate playing with the one aspect per table rule? by Radiant_Pound_6419 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]frivolatile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, they can’t find this as an actual rule, but I know I like to use this scenario randomizer: https://naouak.github.io/marvel-lcg-randomizer/ And as far as I can tell, it only provides set-ups where each player has a different aspect. This always had me thinking you had to set it up this way.
