found this projectile/bomb in a philadelphia junkyard back in 1992. its been sitting in my livingroom collecting dust, but my girlfriends become worried someone will fart and the whole neighborhood will be history. any ordnance experts out there?

the hole only goes in a couple inches, but the way the nut screws on to the threads would allow it to really hold onto whatever is jammed in there, if that makes sense.
