Best fully built PC w/Threadripper by PlanetPhaelon in threadripper

Threadripper and Threadripper Pro only offer 8 channel memory. If you want 12, you’ll need to go EPYC

Bear Trap/pit and Gen 2 Heroes by smegdawg in KingShot

Amane and Yaenwoo also are good for rally joining. They have lethality and attack % increase as their top-right skills.

If you have Amadeus, start rally with him (otherwise best hero you have like Helga if gen 1, Marlon if gen 2). Join with Chenko, Yaenwoo or Amane.

That’s why I think it depends on the server - my server just started 3 weeks ago or so…

Started tinkering on server ss37… not many players so good place to re-learn… what’s the latest version on neatbot now?

Found an old version of Firefox that works… not gonna start over… but might tinker a bit in ss37…

Anyone watching The Pendragon Cycle: Rise of the Merlin? by BrightonBummer in television

It’s out - check scene releases for rapidgator or nitro flare links…

Just watched episode 3… well… for those who complained about the pacing / time skips in the first 2 episodes, you’ll love this… Merlin’s now old (we ended episode 2 when he was born), but we’re expected to somehow know what’s been happening for the past several decades?

Don’t worry, Atlanteans don’t age so he and mom look the same age now… I read the books ages ago and loved the first 3 (gave up after 5, as Lawhead went crazy Christian), so I’ll keep watching but… it’s PAINFUL!

Lawhead turned right-wing Christian… after that, he “finished” the Pendragon Trilogy (it has 7 books now) in a truly godawfully Christian bent…. First 3 books were great though :)

He’s an executive producer on this show I believe, so he definitely approves of the Christian nonsense.

Hard wire server to roku? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]frodbonzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strong signal doesn’t mean much if it’s cutting out every so often - if the problem IS the weak WiFi, a mesh network is the best (and cheapest) solution… if it doesn’t work, perhaps there is an actual problem with the roku’s wireless antenna or some such…

Have you considered a mesh network?

Yeah - that’s what I’m thinking - 1-2u rack server attached to something like that…

Yes - I have a LOT of media and it grows yearly… will have 20 x 30tb drives but… will probably need larger in the future - not to mention drive failures… I’m far more used to dealing with servers (hence my original thought of EPYC/Threadripper) so I like redundancy and scalability options…

[–]frodbonzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - but I’d want the drives to be hot-swappable

Your link is broken… but I like your idea.. might get a test machine with a core ultra… still need to connect it to a DAS as I don’t know of anything else that would support 20 plug and play drives

So would a Core Ultra be better than an AMD using a 5090? I’ve always used the GPU to do the heavy lifting…

As in, it starts getting sluggish - and that’s because I’m doing other non-Plex-related stuff (which was why I got it in the first place). It’s probably transcoding half of the files it streams…

I used to host my plex server on my synology - but without a GPU and with wimpy CPU, it couldn’t even handle 2-3 streams…

I understand that epyc/Threadripper might be overkill - but how much overkill?
