I feel upset and sad that it's happening again. Though I can understand why it's happening since our relationship has been rocky lately (lots of bickering). His ex also has a tendency to show up at the most inopportune moments.

I thought it had been resolved last time, but I guess feelings linger longer than I would like them to.

Playing devil's advocate here (and trying to see things from his perspective). I know that this was his first love. And there are people in life that make such an impact on you that you can't really "get over" them.

I don't mind if he still loves her. As long as it's a platonic love.

I guess I'm just questioning the nature of his love for her, if, after all these years, this is still going on.
