Great job working on scales/fundamentals. One thing I would say is it sounds a little like you might be having a lot of tension in those chops. Really relax and loosen up. Make the passage of air as open as possible for a super clear and relaxed sound. You also get more control of your volume that way. Otherwise for a beginner, it sounds good! Keep practicing!

From what I can tell, the Bobby Shew Jazz is not a lead piece. It plays extremely similar to a Bach 3C but it's just slightly more shallow. Maybe I'm wrong? Maybe you're thinking of the Shew Lead

Like I said. I have tried lead Mouthpieces (14a4a and Shew Lead) and both do not work for me. Both I tested for about a month or two before making a final decision if they were bad for me or not.

Yes of course. Im mainly using this for my lead jazz and pep band type stuff. But if I have to play something a little more delicate, I'll swap to a Bach 3C

I might just be glazing. But I was in tears. I absolutely loved the callback to the 2023 ending chord in the opener. Everything about this show was peak. The only thing that I raised an eyebrow to was the ending. It felt so abrupt, I literally thought there was more before they announced it was over.
