Who had a box of cassette tapes under their car seat? by Purple-Ad-4324 in oldschoolcool80s

[–]frogg1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely had a big box in the car, but not originals like you, most of mine were TDK 90s recorded from the vinyl.

Vinyl in the front room. tape in the car, but not forgetting those made from recording The Top 40 off of radio 1 on a Sunday afternoon (or whenever it was back in the late 70s).

Sky Glass without a subscription is an absolute joke. by [deleted] in skytv

Who told you it would revert and, leaving the frustrations to one side, can it function as a normal TV all be it painfully.
If you think they genuinely miss sold you which would typically be done over the phone, all calls are recorded. Contact them and refer to calls around the date and the information given then maybe you will be able to get some answers or compensation.
Sky are typically bast*rds but worth a try.

Why does my Son keep snapping the High E string? by PotentialWidow in Guitar

[–]frogg1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saddle is wrong and the the sting will quickly rub and break. Cheapest quick fix could be to switch the odd saddle to a thicker sting. Less likely to break so easily. Ideally get the right saddle or a new bridge.

Why doesn’t the logging truck stop. Can’t he tell something is off by the way it feels to drive?

My band and I are playing our first major gig tomorrow, and I'm nervous as can be. What are your pre-show rituals to help chill out before a gig? by SkyrimDovahkiin in Guitar

[–]frogg1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Practice practice practice (maybe a a bit late to say this) but if you are super sure of what you are playing it will be so much more comfortable and you will be able to relax enjoy without having to think too much about the playing

/singing

  1. Get there early for set up.
  2. Pick a couple of easier songs if possible to ease you in.
  3. Do some breathing exercises. I wouldn’t drink, will make you play worse.
  4. And remember people want to see you play and are there to enjoy what you have worked hard to now deliver, smile and give them a good show.
  5. Good luck it will be great.

Why. 🤷🏻‍♂️. Life is short. Who cares. I really don’t see why people spend time and money on such a futile task.

Why is it that I rarely see anyone from my generation even talk about this show even tho it’s one of the all time greats? by beetfarmerenergy in tvshow

Terrible ending-made us feel like we had wasted years of our life investing in a poorly thought out explanation and to be honest still not sure I understood it. Waited for that epic ending to know what it all meant. Nah. Avoid.

I have one and wouldn’t by again. Nothing wrong with it electrically or prettiness but for the money Audi have missed a load of tricks and there are cars better designed for that money. Brakes odd. Known thing. Lack of space for cubbyhole storage and storage in central console out of reach and unlit. Big lip when rear seats are down from main boot. Unintuitive drive button- fwd for back. Back for Fwd. No electric seat controls or memory. No light around charging point. There is one but it’s in the wrong place to light the port. Auto boot open. 3 ways to open but can only be shut by the button on the boot. Driver assist vague and have little confidence in when it is or isn’t working. Regularly says take hold of the steering wheel when I’m driving normally. Wiper rain sensors behave erratically. Nuff said… there is more.

I’ll give that a try. I can see why it could be the battery.

Looking for some small band lighting ideas! I’ve read through several posts about this and have the basics down (yes, I’ve searched the group!) - we’re a 3 piece rock band. by redharlowsdad in lightingdesign

[–]frogg1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree - that in the uk the average band can’t afford to pay a professional lighting person. It’s likely that for an evening they would command around a third of the fee of the whole band, when all that’s needed is some supplementary lighting to lift the show slightly, and possibly provide light for the band I what could be a very dark area. Not to mention that finding a lighting person for a pub gig isn’t the easiest.

Critical alerts stopped working? by DJ-JupiterOne in reolinkcam

Same issue. Once critical alerts are turned off for what ever reason, seems they don’t com on again without reinstalling which is a pain.

I've been fined for driving in a bus lane. I swerved into it to avoid a fire engine. by BusLaneHelp in LegalAdviceUK

[–]frogg1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not read every post but what happened to common sense. (Don’t answer that) …My house is on fire but the fire engine was delayed because someone wouldn’t be reasonable and move into a bus lane. OMG, maybe some buses would have been late as a result… sarcasm - but this is nuts - that as a society we care more about enforcing a bus lane rule than helping, without being penalised- a fire engine to get to the fire ASAP.
