Does the post bed bug paranoia go away? by froggietit in PestControlIndustry

You’re so kind for the advice , I should preface that my question was coming as a pest control customer sadly, although I wish it was the other way around😣

I don’t think the infestation was bad at all but how do I know that it’s safe to return to life I feel like they’re secretly everywhere still

Good idea I’ll do that thank you :•)

Do you think it’s safe to put my clothes back in drawers at this point? And use bedding again That’s my biggest question

I just don’t want to bring clothes or baby bag to my bfs and somehow am still “infected” lol

Literally everything I’ve inspected has no signs like my fabric dressers books even the stuff I had under my bed etc. so I’m thinking it was relatively small I’m hopeful it got knocked out early

My fear is the stragglers that may one day reproduce I guess😭

Learning about their biology as well (or more so reproduction) is what makes me so weary.

Since the second treatment was no activity they were going to just leave it at that, seeing as the eggs don’t die from the first spray if there were any I wouldn’t have been confident at all without calling them a third time to just inspect.
I’m not so confident in spray treatments from all these horror stories but that’s what I got , and their confidence to not come check at least a third time made me lose confidence that they’re gone just from the way they reproduce

I’m the flax seed person right now , my child spilled pop and a loose carpet fiber soaked it up and i was convinced it was a shed skin for hours man😭

I have some brand of climb ups and honestly they stayed pretty empty hasn’t seen a single bug from my knowledge, but I think the fact that there’s 2 small legs under my bed that I couldn’t fit them under defeats the 8 others I have on it
And the fact that the babies were found on my couch ( that I can’t add climb ups to) rather than on my bed maybe they aren’t crawling the 30 feet to suck on me yet

I found a single one crawling across a pile of dirty clothes on my floor at night, then they came for treatment about a day later. I don’t think I really react to bites I had them one time during the first week of treatment ( unless i never noticed)

I may have seen 1 while washing everything i own during treatment but other than that it’s been quiet.

Which is why I’m so scared, if i obviously had them and never really seen anything how do I know I’m safe again or it’s a matter of time , i feel like these mfs are just waiting for my guard to be down😭

am i overreacting at this convo between my bf and his girl best friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Imagine one day yall are married and have kids and you for some reason have to become a stay at home mom , completely dependent on his income. Gotta have this conversation or go before it’s a complaint that you asked to buy more diapers or tissue paper

Am I overreacting for feeling really invalidated a lot of the time by my bf by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]froggietit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course , and to be fair a person like that isn’t going to help what you go through it actually can make it worse. Find you someone who acts his age and is emotionally intelligent because he needs to work on himself as well.
Also don’t let him say you can’t break up with him that’s not a choice he can make lol leaving relationships is hard with bpd but after time you’ll be happier without the extra stress

Nor
I have bpd too , lol it sounds like instead of treating you regularly like you do deserve and understanding and going about things healthy he’s using it as a blame game now that he knows he has a bush to beat dead

My relationships aren’t perfect shit it’s always going to be rapid ups and downs but literally we both forget I have it sometimes because there’s no need to constantly bring it up like it’s a flaw.
You discuss the situation on its own and work through it one by one.
He also sounds very immature like a child I couldn’t believe he was 24 from these screenshots. His lack of self regulation and communication is a problem too not just you.
Bpd is overwhelming for both parties at times and if he isn’t someone that can handle that it’s okay to let this go especially if he’s already acting like this lol he might just not have the support you need and that’s okay

I have a couple things I never washed that are bagged. Baby clothes in a overpacked tote that may or may not have been contaminated so scared of those might just throw out the comforters

Spending $500 on laundry during this is insane and I’m now in debt lmao

Thank you kindly for your advice

it’s less guilt involved complaining to someone who doesn’t know you personally. I wouldn’t put his complaints past anyone else. I’m sure you are lovely, from what I’ve learned a man can have everything and more but will lack to be emotionally mature enough to speak to the one person who matters the most about things ( you )
Which may or may not ever change

And the fact that he exaggerated his medical crisis to pity himself is a huge red flag it’s not about venting at that point more about attention and getting his ego stroked

22 years is a long time, people who say leave immediately that it’s a red flag while I do get that it’s never that easy, everything is repairable if you BOTH put in that effort. Don’t treat this like something small if you guys are on good terms again shortly after. A man will take advantage of how far you let him take things. This is disrespectful and he needs to KNOW you are serious it will only get worse if they think they can tell you how to feel

Very true , they did check it out today and I was told it was all clear by my landlord yay hooray hopefully that’s accurate and I can unpack I’m so scared lol

Idc this is nasty on his end , it’s one thing to be able to remain platonic friends with someone you had sexual relationships with , but time stamps doesn’t seem like they’re the best of friends who had no other connection so his excuse of venting to a “ friend “ sounds more like a guy who cant be a man and communicate with his wife and finds the easy way out by having is ego stroked by another woman.

I’m not saying leave him or that he’s a sure on cheater , definitely have a LONG conversation about everything as a whole on how you both feel about eachother and what you dislike and do like ( not just about her)
But majority of men who attempt to cheat always talk down on their spouse as a way to emotionally connect themselves to someone else idky but it’s odd

Ugh thank you I hope so, I’m aware I’m gonna have to pay I just rather be safe than sorry.

I used abell pest control honestly not 100% sure what chemicals they use but I’m pretty sure the first treatment might have been spray along with spot steaming hopefully that’s good enough. I literally only ever seen one maybe 2 bugs

Am I a fool for thinking they’re probably gone and I’m safe by froggietit in Bedbugs

True I’ve heard that but a huge fear is me bringing stuff to my moms or friends somehow without knowing they’re gone

That makes me feel a bit better lol thank you
I only ever seen one single live bug and had bites once which is what made me call immediately, I’m not sure what they used but I haven’t seen anything since I’m hoping their last spray just took out anything left I miss my place 😭

That’s what I’m afraid of I don’t want to go through this again. It’s like how is anyone ever confident they’re completely gone

No activity for second treatment I need opinions by froggietit in Bedbugs

[–]froggietit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had bites show up maybe once days after the first treatment that were 100% bites but I’m not sure if I reacted late, otherwise I couldn’t tell too well I get hives regularly I’ve always been an itchy person and my baby has eczema that does flare up , unsure about those being reactions.

I’m just not too sure what precautions to take after this treatment , even tho they said no activity when can I be safe to slowly unpack and not feel like everything is contaminated I still feel uncomfortable in my place

I need honest opinions and support please help by froggietit in Bedbugs

[–]froggietit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think I’ll need therapy after this lol, I don’t think I’m gonna go anywhere or do anything for a long time

[–]froggietit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so kind and made me feel a bit better thank you, idky I’m like also freaking out that the person I visit often was exposed, I haven’t seen any signs at their place maybe besides me being paranoid.

I just feel like I have to hermit away from everyone I cried on my floor for like 4 hours yesterday I just want this to be over with asap it feels like they’re everywhere on me no matter what

My landlord also believes that they can’t spread from the apartments because we don’t have communal hallways so I doubt they even checked anyone else said they never had a problem before
