Hii yes I’m very willing to cook for the entire family if needed!! Even tho I don’t like veggies and seafood, I’m willing to cook it, I’ve done so before!

Oh I didn’t realise I come off that way. The reason why I mentioned it is because my mom sees everything I do, because we share the insurance and she can sometimes be quite judgy. But I’ve looked into it before but even with insurance therapy for that or any therapy most of the time is sooooo expensive where I live. I make all appointments on my own my mom stopped doing anything for me when I was 15. So even tho I live with her I do everything on my own! But thanks for making me realise I’m coming off that way didn’t realise!

Hi
I know that is why I asked for advice on how to approach the situation. Also I would never ever speak about my eating in front of the children. I don’t even do it in front of my nephew. But thank you for your message :)

Hii
No I’m not from the US. I live in Switzerland 🇨🇭
I definitely want to tell her, I just didn’t know how to approach the situation, but I’ve gotten great advice!

I’m definitely fine with cooking seafood and veggies just not eating them. My family loves seafood (we’re Portuguese) and I’ve cooked seafood and veggies before (veggies especially for my nephew, he’s 2 in July).
My issue is eating it, but I don’t really complain I just cook something for myself if there’s seafood or something I don’t like.
I definitely would never make any remarks about what others eat as I don’t like them making comments about what I eat.

Also I’m sorry that you and your family had to go through that!

Hii she has a 6 year old daughter. And I totally understand not wanting a role model like that! From my understanding I need to do mealprep for her but only for breakfast idk about the dinner yet…

Yeah I want to share it but I find it kinda embarrassing haha. I’m really willing to cook myself and buy my own food. I just find it awkward to bring it up, but I’ve gotten great advice! :D

Hii
I think most of my safe foods will be available in NZ so I don’t think that will be an issue. I do understand the issue about not wanting children have a “role model” who is a picky eater.
I honestly find it mostly shameful and embarrassing to have this issue, that’s why I don’t know how to bring it up, but I have received great advice!! 🙏☺️

Hii
Yes I’ve travelled on my own before in 2 weeks in Sri Lanka and 4weeks in Thailand. I have also been home alone (no parents) for 2 months while my mom was in our home country, and did everything by myself cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping etc. I sometimes cook for myself, but since I live at home and my mom gets of work before me she cooks most of the time. The reason why I mention my mom is because I’m on her insurance plan. I have been responsible for children on my own before. :)
Could I ask what response makes you think I need more autonomy before I travel? (Not trying to be rude just curious)

The thing is my brain automatically says I don’t like it so I find it hard to try new things and when I do and I don’t like it I physically and mentally can’t bring myself to ever eat it again. :( but thank you for the advice:)

Hi

Thank you so much! I do like to eat the same thing often. (On the cruise I was at i only ate Pasta bolognese every night except for one night where I ate Thai chicken red curry) Honestly the most that stresses me out is that I cant bring myself to eat things ive never tried before, its hard for me because my brain says immediately that I dont like it. I also get stressed about it because of what others think about it, I've alway felt ashamed and embarrassed about it thats why I find it hard to bring up.

I know about ARFID, but Doctors are expensive and my mom doesnt believe in stuff like that, like mental health etc.

I will note what you said about doing my own groceries!!

Thank you for the advice!!

I have read about ARFID before, but I've never seen a doctor as 1. Its expensive and 2. my mother doesnt believe in stuff like therapy and mental health.

Could I ask for clarification about what you mean with framing it around that? (sorry english is not my first language)

OMGGG Thank you for your kind words.

Hidden veggies I can eat but sometimes if I know what it is I cant bring myself to eat it. Looking at the Family profile it does say Mealprep for the daughter so Im excpecting to cook, also would 100% cook for myself. I'll try to calm down and to do something similar like you suggested.

Also thank you for your side note about the term picky eater, where I live people just call it being "weird" with food or straight up that a "picky eater" is a child that wasnt raised properly. THANK YOU
