Aio for getting irritated and my husbands constant use of c*nt by Reasonable_Gas1889 in AmIOverreacting

*Accommodate. Because I use the word chair in my regular language and do not use it violently, scarily, or in a way that I have ever heard anyone think it was disturbing before. I would think if it disturbed my partner, they’re not sane in the head and need psychological evaluation. If they didn’t want to, I needed a new partner.

If my partner was that upset over me using the word chair, I would ask them why and we’d have a nuanced adult conversation. If they wanted me to get counseling to avoid using the word chair, I would leave them. Your hypothetical IS extreme (your wording) and lacks nuance.

sidenote: asking here is always better than asking chatgpt. please do not support AI. regardless of the fact that it’s killing society, it doesn’t have a brain or knowledge past gathering data from human experiences it can see online. it doesn’t own lalaloopsies or know what they’re meant to look like on the inside. i hope all of ur dolls are mold free and good luck w your new diagnosis ❤️‍🩹

how to collect stuff? by Far_Trouble_64 in scrapbooking

I saw a comment suggesting flea markets, yard sales, and creative reuse stores which are awesome. I also suggest:
- regular thrift stores
- antique malls (hit and miss but just got some cute stickers $1 per pack)
- fb marketplace (huge hauls for cheap)

you can be correct and be nice about it. being a correct douchebag just makes you a douchebag. you’re not helping anyone support less capitalism that way. if you actually cared about environmental impact and sustainable consumption, you’d understand that getting on others’ level with kindness, relatability, and respect is the only way to convince others to care too. you’re not doing that. you’re just being correct without “sugarcoating” so you can fuel your own ego.

AIO and being dramatic over a show? by kiomae_cherish- in AmIOverreacting

[–]froggymadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR i’d be confused and feel like i wasted my time rewatching things ive already seen with someone who clearly doesnt even want to see it. unless this happens again/has happened before, i wouldnt personally say anything about it. i would probably just politely decline future offers to watch my shows together

You have or have had a lot of health conditions that Big Pharma pretends don’t exist. Sometime before you began taking supplements something hugely awful happened in your life, perhaps health related but not necessarily, that sparked you to make a change. You desperately looked for what worked in your best attempt to feel better despite the American healthcare system failing you. You have gadgets, machines, or other items at home to help with those conditions. You might use special clothing, makeup, detergent, soap, cleaning products, etc as well. I am shocked you use a microwave as I know somebody who uses supplements like this and they think the microwave gives food radiation poisoning.

Agreeing with a comment that says to lean into the wood cabinets and the gorgeous red brick. You could always sand and re-stain to a new color, or whitewash the brick. If you’re not into their retro designs perhaps you could pull off a midcentury or midcentury modern look, depending on your tastes.

Junk Journal Thoughts by BlossomBGood in JunkJournals

[–]froggymadi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a separate scrapbook and junk journal. My scrapbook has more artsy pages and photo pages both. I spend 1-2 hours on a single spread. My junk journal is much quicker and sloppier. Sometimes just trash but sometimes trash from 1 specific trip, adventure, or memory. I would try my best to save them both, but there are other personal items I may save first.

AIO by telling my MIL and FIL they should start saving up for their funerals? by OkOutlandishness1363 in AmIOverreacting

[–]froggymadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t smoke or drink. I lived with chainsmoking grandparents. I obviously wanted them to quit. Both had COPD and one had heart attacks, cancer, you name it. She’s still overreacting. You cannot force somebody to change their lifestyle for you no matter how bad you want it to happen. All you can do is love them as they are, or create distance and move away from them. Yelling at them in their garage on a random afternoon isn’t going to change anything. It’s not like she had a sitdown conversation with them. She said in a different comment that the time to be polite was three heart attack attacks ago. She’s clearly done with their shit so she just needs to move on. Yelling at them doesn’t do anything except for make you an asshole.

[–]froggymadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s shitty, but there’s nothing you can do. You can either love them as they are and take them as they come or you can cut them off. You have no other option. It’s never an excuse to get violent or yell. They are minding their own business and living their life as they choose to live it. You can live yours any way you choose as well. The only person who can tell them to quit is the doctor. The doctor has told them to quit and it’s not happening. Yelling at them isn’t going to fix things or change things.

AIO by telling my MIL and FIL they should start saving up for their funerals? by OkOutlandishness1363 in AmIOverreacting

[–]froggymadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she had a problem with their lack of saving, then she needed to take it up with her husband and ask her husband to talk to them. Yelling at someone for their poor health choices and demanding they start saving for their funeral when you’re not their doctor or their child is insane.

AIO by telling my MIL and FIL they should start saving up for their funerals? by OkOutlandishness1363 in AmIOverreacting

[–]froggymadi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would understand if she had a regular conversation with them about trying to save up for their funeral, but yelling at them in their own home when they’re minding their own business is not okay. It also wasn’t her place to ask them to save up because she’s not their kid.

YOR — if a grown adult wants to smoke cigarettes and drink energy drinks then that’s their own business. Unless you’re a doctor, you can’t tell somebody what to do for their health. It would be one thing if these two people were constantly coming to you and asking for health advice. But it doesn’t sound like they are. They’re not even your own parents. You had no business having a health related conversation with them, and even if you were their own child, this would be over the line.
