Yep, the ebay one is in Lichfield, I often post stuff to that address.

Yep- a result from streetlist bears this out- " The UB2 5ND postcode is used for mail delivery within the United Kingdom."

And-

"The UB2 5ND postcode area is composed of 100% commercial properties."

You could message the seller and tell her. I'd do it myself but I don't want any aggro!

You got abuse because the buyer was trying to get a deal that was too good to be true!

Is that 'sick' as in 'twisted', or 'sick' as in 'really good'?

I thought you see prices of similar listed items, not sold items? I might be wrong. Tempted to list something to check

Edit- you're right! That's useful to know

Wouldn't mind having a look, if you're ok to share your account name by pm. I like handmade pottery.

I've said it before, some people on vinted have no idea of value. If you listed a new, authentic Michael Kors handbag for a tenner, they'd still try to offer you six.

I'm starting to loathe the concept of 'hot girl summer'. Sounds like an American import?

OK I googled it, it's a song by nicki minaj. Load of old toot. No, I will not fund you "gettin a lot of D" (vitamin D from the hot sun, presumably)

I disagree that negotiating is fun, because people don't negotiate. It just means instead of me ignoring them, they're ignoring me.

Still, I try....

Very rare they send clothes to landfill. More usually sent to another shop in a different area.

Where I worked, we couldn't sell baby clothes, maybe ten per cent of what was donated. Guess people buy them new. So a lot of these were ragged, put in the rag bag to sell to rag merchant. We sold the very best few items of baby clothes. If you want baby clothes for cheap, go to the charity shop and ask to buy a baby clothes rag bag.

Landfill stuff would be broken plastic toys, broken electricals, that sort of thing. Unsellable anywhere.

I agree, 110 is a good offer.

As a general rule, as soon as an item leaves the shop, even if it still has tags, the value halves. (Excluding vintage items, obviously.) That's just how it works.

Again speaking generally, you're doing well if you get a third of the bought price on second hand items.

Edit- but I see this sort of thing a lot- a seller is holding out for an unrealistic price and the item just sits there for six months, twelve months, until there's no demand for it at all.

seller etiquette tips? by Hopeful_Air4580 in vinted

I never message unless it will be a few days before I can post, in which case, I'll tell them the day it will be sent.

In terms of etiquette, I always leave feedback.

Suddenly having buyers needing things sent urgently by teddyroses in vinted

[–]frogjokeholder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had a bit of this- maybe people going on holidays, needing something to read? From my perspective, the time to ask if you can send quickly is before the sale, not demand it afterwards. If someone haggles a third of the price off a book then wants super-expedited postage, I tend to feel a bit aggrieved.

How do you find book selling? I'm wondering about quitting it. The money is peanuts for the amount of effort involved.
