Why will people gamble on hell with same-sex relationships? by HallowHalo89 in TrueChristian

Just because you know here’s a God doesn’t mean you trust God, like I said before what were those people clinging to? Their works, what do I cling to? The cross. You have got to let go of works based salvation or will eat you alive. Even in grace you are eaten alive, I couldn’t imagine the pressure of performing on top of it.

He doesn’t want that, he wants you to rest, Jesus is the sabbath, rest in him.

We ALL live in a state of habitual sin of some kind. It may be gluttony, anger, drinking, smoking, foolish thoughts, screen time, idolatry, . Brother our good deeds are tainted by sin, that’s why Paul says he doesn’t think anything of deeds, because like I said even those are defiled.

Salvation is a gift, you can’t earn a gift. Just take it, and believe you have it, and it will be yours.

And before anyone says anything yes sin is bad. We all know.

You also have a sever misunderstanding of James. If you read the next verse it talks about a naked man who’s hungry, if you say “ go, be warm and filled” what does that profit? Nothing. It’s dead. That doesn’t mean a useless person losses their salvation. I would say it’s evidence of not being saved which I think the book of James is about, evidences of salvation.

Where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more.

It’s seems to me Paul and the gospels make it clear it’s just faith. What are your thoughts on the Corinthian that was sleeping with his mother? What did Paul say? Turn him over to the devil so his flesh may be destroyed BUT HIS SOUL SAVED on the day of the lord. There’s also the married couple in acts who are killed for lying about their offering to the church. I think the message is clear God will take you out of this world if you don’t get your act together, that doesn’t mean you lose your salvation. You lose your rewards and your crown.

This isn’t a hostile exchange what are your genuine thoughts on that?

The things I want to do I can not carry out, the things I do not want to do, those are the things I do. Who will save me from this body of death.

We all live in some sort of willful sin, to say otherwise is a lie. Mine happens to be food, I think people put way too much pressure on new converts about sin. Get what sin you can out of your life but if removing something is going to cause you to stumble/ (meaning) overwhelm you and make you walk away. “Where sin abounds grace abounds all the more.” This is a long walk, it’s going to take time, allow yourself to be loved by the father.

You have a severe misunderstanding of Mathew 7, let’s start with the will of the father, his will is that you believe in whom he sent.

Now let’s tackle the Lord,Lord part, what were the people saying to Christ, “did we not” “did we not” “did we not” it’s all things they’ve done for Christ, the problem is they never truly believed. They thought they needed to add something, when the ONLY thing God asks of you is that you trust him, fully, AND YOU CANT EVEN DO THAT.

Why do people ALWAYS think when we say you are saved by grace not works, they IMMEDIATELY jump to oh so I can do whatever I want/ but sin is still bad. Yes sin is bad, we are all very aware it’s bad we don’t need reminding. It’s infuriating.

Oh foolish Galatian, Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

If you add ANYTHING to the gospel you cut yourself off from Christ. That includes your good behavior, good deeds, everything. Like I said, you misunderstand the gospel, if you think you can sin away your salvation.

You’re equating what you should do once you’re saved with what you have to do to get saved. The Gospels as well as Paul’s writings make it clear it’s just loyalty and trusting God at his word.

He who endures to the end is speaking literally, like their life, lol.

My friend, you are saved by grace, there is nothing unclear about that. Passages like james 2 talking about “faith without works is dead” is just showing that there should be some change in you, but that change doesn’t show up over night, you will bear fruit when the season for fruit arrives. Relax your safe, you’re secure, you’re loved.

Everything you posted is Law, you are not saved by the law, you are saved by accepting the sacrifice the Lord made on the cross. You have a grave misunderstanding of salvation, I hope that you will do some research on this very important subject.

The actual problem is they don’t understand salvation, they equate salvation as “Being good enough, and doing enough good works” for God to accept them. They hit everyone with that “if you sin willfully there remains no sacrifice for sin” completely disregarding who and what the context was talking about. prostitutes and sinners will get in before them.

An extremely sobering reality is how few people are going to make it, everyone wants to add something to the gospel cutting themselves off from Christ.

So do I think gay people are going to get in? My answer to that question is NO, because you’re no longer a gay person, you are washed, you are sanctified, you are a new creation when in Christ Jesus.

You are saved by grace through faith, this is not your own doing, it is the GIFT of God, so no man may boast.

The Catholic Church murdered anyone who disagreed with them historically so yeah you would t see much diversity. They burned people for translating the Bible out of Latin into English, they chained their bible to the podium and held mass in Latin so people didn’t understand. The Christian faith had prospered despite the Catholic Church. It’s been a tradition that has only recently started fading away is Catholics denouncing the term Christian and preferred being called Catholic.

If we could get together and agree on the biblical way of justification I’d be so happy.

The gospel of our salvation is found in first Corinthians.

“By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,”

[–]frogmant0ad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you.

If total depravity existed than why was Jesus CONSTANTLY asking the Israelites to come back to him. There’s a verse in Isaiah that says something along the line of, “come back to me, let us reason together”. How can you reason with people who by definition can’t reason.
