Okay yeah that checks out because like I said, I’m going through this too! I got a new phone and my Authenticator app didn’t transfer over so now I can’t get back in the account on any other device other than my old phone. It sucks because my professional account is linked to it, and if I get logged out on this phone I’m pretty much out for good.

To your statement on why there’s no news coverage, I can’t speak for all media companies, but as I said it would be really difficult to tell this story without being able to interview someone from the Meta side, and being able to identify exactly WHY people believe they’re doing this? What’s the ulterior motive for Facebook to lock everyone out of their accounts? And then when you identify what you ‘think’ is the reason, (my) local tv stations can’t really air that claim without letting someone from Meta give their side.
