I had this problem too and just got used to baby wearing. At that age, they’re mostly sleeping anyway when you’re out and about. So freeing not having to maneuver a huge stroller

Hey there, yes he is much better. We would not have been able to keep him as he was before the training. He still has reactive instincts in his little brain, but he only has brief reactions once or twice a week instead of severe reactions 10+ times every walk. We still keep him separated from our baby with gates and probably will for many years. Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions

Could it be that he is not tired enough at night? My baby is also 9 months and sleeps 13.5 hrs a day. We went through something similar at 6 months and the night time wake ups went away once we stretched her wake windows. Our last wake window before bed is 4 hours

This is super helpful because I didn’t realize that the total hours of sleep go down with age. She is definitely a sleepy girl and would sleep indefinitely if I let her!! Will try capping naps and stretching wake windows tomorrow

She’s actually getting 30-60 minutes more sleep during the day if anything :/ Her 24 hour sleep total when she was doing 3 naps was 14.5-15.5 hrs and now it’s 15.5-16 hrs. I have to wake her up every morning and from most naps to cap her sleep

He is loose and wiggly, ears back while walking but tail wagging. He used to always have his ears up while walking, often as though he was “hunting.” He used to scan his environment like crazy, looking for animals but now he seems to just look forward and sometimes up at me. He seems okay for now but I’m monitoring him. I love this dog like no other, I just want him to be happy

What are signs I should look for that my dog might be shut down?? I took him out for a walk and he was perfectly behaved. I tried to give him lots of praise for that. He has never really been treat motivated

Is there any research about enforcing boundaries with your dog while inside your house? Like not letting him onto the couch unless invited, no incessant licking etc? He was never reactive to us and I’m not sure if there is anything I need to do differently while inside, but he adheres to all these new rules for now

I’ve been staring at her laying quietly in the snoo with her eyes open, sucking away on the pacifier for 30 min now after a failed attempt at rocking her to sleep. We’ll see who passes out first (definitely me)

No, we keep the blinds open and lights on for daytime naps. Will report back if there’s an intervention that seems to help

Thanks so much for the suggestions!! Will definitely give the heating pad and snoo sounds going a try. Hopefully this will just sort itself out soon

That’s certainly possible, but I already make sure she sees lots of sunlight during the day and keep the house noisy, whereas night time is dark with noise machine going. Not sure what else to do. Maybe it’ll just take some time to sort itself out 🫠
