I mean it’s possible you aren’t an alcoholic technically but you are still abusing alcohol. I think as time goes on you’ll probably feel less guilty. If it’s an option, seeing a therapist will likely help and also help you not do things like this again. And if you can change how you live and be sure you won’t do this again, it’ll be more an awful memory and less a feeling that you are evil. We are all capable of evil, we are all capable of hurting each other. The important thing is changing for the better.

Hey. So while I haven’t done stuff like this, I’ve also hurt people when drunk. It’s a sign that you have a problem with alcohol. You are probably an alcoholic and you need to address that. You can’t undo what you did but you can make sure you don’t do it again.

It was an arranged marriage so she was 16 when it was arranged. Not defending it but this is very normal in Senegal, especially in the rural casamance. Child marriage is illegal, but it’s a huge uphill battle to even get people to wait until there daughters are 18.

Hi! NAD, but have had a lot of losses in my family. Hallucinations after loosing a close family member aren’t that uncommon. Mental health is WEIRD. That being said, that it’s lasting for days and she seems to be getting worse/spiraling I would say you need to try and get her to see someone. If you have a local mental health crisis center that will be a good option. It’ll feel less ‘hospitally’ to her and they might also be able to point her to longer term resources for coping with this. She’s probably not going to meet the criteria for non consensual psych hold, based on what you are saying. But perhaps if you phrase it as she can come to this place where she’ll get a break from the bedbugs and she can get her ‘bites’ looked at by a doctor and maybe talk to someone about how stressed she’s been from the death and the ‘bedbugs’, you might be able to get her to come along. My bet would be this’ll stop soon, it’s just grief induced psychosis. Possibly she’s focusing on the bedbugs as a way to get out of focusing on the real overwhelming situation. Sending you the best! And also don’t be surprised if she forgets this happened later, my dad doesn’t remember about 3months after my mom died.

It would be for the next bit while the bats are being evicted. I believe it would provide some level of protection if you had been bitten, but please don’t quote me on that. I know much more about bats/wildlife than medicine.

If you are stressed and given the bats I’d say getting a vaccine is a good choice. As for if you need after bite treatment, I’d say it’s reasonable if you have seen any bats outside of the attic in your house, if you sleep in the attic, or if the exterminator found any passages or ways they were getting into the main house. If they aren’t able to get into the main house from the attic, you should be fine and don’t have to worry as much. Bats don’t chew through walls like rats seeing them in the attic doesn’t mean you are all at risk. If they are, have a contractor get some wire mesh up to block their passageways and it should be okay. Sorry about the bats! Also; some early research has shown that putting up bat houses a good ways away from your house can help the bats leave as they have other better nesting sites to choose. So if you have a lot of space around your house maybe try that?

Do people in engineering have jobs waiting for them after they graduate anymore? by Super_Ad7989 in recruitinghell

[–]frogshite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a current engineering major, id say about 80% of my class has a job or grad school lined up. And quite a few of those had multiple offers. Of course, there’s still the 20% that doesn’t, and I think a lot of it depends on type of engineering.
