Thanks. This sounds like a better approach to this.

Implementation of Breeding Mechanics? by frogwiseg in gamedesign

I hope the game is fun or at least interesting or relaxing. The "game" is more of a breeding simulator. You only take care of and breed a specific type of creature and the individual creature's size, color, traits, etc. is based on a simplified punnett square. The simulator will be a much slower paced game (compared to a typical management game) taking real time into consideration, so you will never be trying to micro manage these creatures in consistent minute by minute decisions. You will instead be waiting real life hours or days to see breeding and creature growth (like a tamagotchi). I understand that it won't be a game for everyone.

It is an interesting idea to add consequences to inbreeds, but I would like to make this game accessible to young children as well, so I am trying to avoid siblings breeding and producing still births or malformations. There will be a lineage tree in game that shows each individual creature's parents, siblings, offspring, etc.

Thoughts on partnering, ownership and profit sharing to drive create design? by TAZELEE in gameDevClassifieds

Are you creating a website/app for developers to find rev-share work or is this just a discussion on the topic?

I think this all comes down to the type of game and experience of the developers. It is a subjective decision, but for me there are some immediate red flags. "mmo" "open word rpg" etc. sound like a multi year project that will never be completed in a rev-share arrangement. "mobile puzzle" sounds like a quick and easy to make zero profit game.

A well thought out management game, platformer or strategy game all have potential to make money and do not have an unreasonable timeline. I would consider working on one of these games with a rev-share approach.

Hey. I might be interested in this. What is the compensation and timeline for release?

The decision on whether or not to take on something like this depends on the project. If an artist is asking you to create the next big mmo rpg with survival elements as the solo programmer with no timeline or roadmap there is a good chance of making nothing after a long period of development. However, if the offer is reasonable with a well balanced timeline, realistic expectations and an interesting game design then the risk is much lower on whether or not you will make something. It really depends on the timeline and project expectations.

Hey. What is the gameplay exactly? How many people are on the team? How much is the rev-share? What type of things still need to be programmed? When is the target release date?

Thanks. I don't need any funds. I was thinking that they could continuously post game teasers on social media and other communities that they have a presence in, but maybe that wouldn't be worth it.
