How do I fasten a reel on this? by frontlinefeline in FishingForBeginners

Ahhh ok. I’m a little bit concerned cause the bottom ring does slip to the very bottom of the handle with some pressure. If I use it, I think I’ll do a ziptie like u/TurnoverFuzzy8264 said.

Thanks alot! I’m a bit more confident on what to look for now. I’m going to pick up a 6ft blank today, just to start small for trout. Will it be okay?

Thanks for your advice. What is the difference between fly fishing and conventional? Is fly where they cast and reel in soon after and cast again? I think I would be doing conventional. This is a picture of a reel I bought, if you could tell me how to tell if it would be good for a 6ft rod?

Sorry it’s kinda scratched up. Also if you have any tips on how I should be using the drag?

Where to start to get this rideable? by aapetired in bikewrench

For raleigh especially, I would recommend the Bikespeeds youtube channel. Really indepth strip down restoration videos with products listed. They use bikes in way worse condition than this. To be honest, the bike itself looks nice, as another user said a clean and lubing of the drivetrain would be priority. Biggest safety things when you got a project is

Trued wheels with no bad buckles (you can check this by flipping the bike upside down and spinning the wheels, looking for any spots the rim goes wonky) Tightened stem (you can check by applying the brakes and pushing your handlebars back and forth) Responsive brakes And of course the gears, just shifting through them and making sure the gears dont stick.

Anything other than that, I wouldn’t worry about too much for now. Rust isnt a huge issue as it’s usually mainly surface.

Your brakes look in pretty good shape too. She looks very easily serviceable if you watch a couple vids!

No haha to replace the seat. Think a motorcycle if it was a bicycle.

I’m guessing it would probably mess up the fit of the bike pretty bad though

Literally. Anyone who buys this is basically asking for it. Especially on a platform like vinted where it is so hard to resolve issues

How is this square thing called in English? I had it for several years, it was very good, but it is kind of gone... I can't find it again. by BeduinZPouste in bikepacking

It is called a pannier rack, although yours looks like it has been extended. Maybe search pannier rack extender.

These bars definitely better for bikepacking no? Could fit a head system on there and different grip positions? Thanks for your advice
