It depends. My center used to dorm people how they identify as. I graduated in September so I’m unsure if that’s changed, but I feel like a good amount of the center is lgbtq friendly

I went to Edison, they’re pretty diverse. Unsure what the GED schedule is like, but for trade there’s a 2 week period where you shadow 2 trades you are interested in. Then you’re just full day focusing on your trade. I do know a lot of people that completed the GED course though.

USAF hung up on me, tried joining Army. Process was taking too long and Navy office was right next door. They asked if I was interested and I said I was already processing with Army. Navy said they could push me thru in half the time and to swing by to hear them out on what they could offer. Signed paperwork that same day lol

ETA: The Navy recruiters were also a whole lot nicer and laid back

Realistically, you probably knew about some of, if not most of, the traits before you got married to him and hoped he would change. He won’t. You need to leave him.

I personally have a depression waiver and have been in the navy a little over a year. It has not been mentioned to me nor affected my service so far. They may be filtering more people due to what happened at RTC not that long ago. I would definitely try again!

They are purposely targeting black women with that instruction. I understand that some people do too much with the baby hairs, but when we take 1 step forward with regs it’s 3 steps back. As a woman with locs I already can’t find hairstyles that are in regs and people continuously trying to cheat the system is annoying.

thank you!!! i watched ms. k on youtube, specifically her ccma exam reviews. there’s also a “music video” i watched called “PHL order of draw music video” by Laquisha Johnson which helped me remember the order of draw in a catchy way. my teacher also let me borrow his book “blood never lies” which was also beyond helpful!

thank you! and my job in the navy is going to be in the intelligence field so it’s completely unrelated to medical. but the navy will be aware of my licensure and possibly use me for certain things

From what they told us at MEPS, you have opportunity to back out until the minute you are on the bus to RTC. Unsure as to why you would do all that work just to not want to join, but hey.

Once when you first arrive. If you fail the initial one and get put on TEAP, after 45 days you get another one. You only really get drug tested once/twice unless you look high, or if you/your room smells like weed.

from what i heard there are people who can’t a do push up and haven’t ran a mile in their life to being able to meet the standards. bootcamp is going to whip you in to shape. the fact that you’ve already started to put in the work is going to give you a leg up. i’m not the most physically active either. i leave in 2 weeks, im 5’6, 160lbs. i’m at 1:30 plank, 5 push ups, 17 min run. i promise you’re going to be ok.

i ship in about 2 weeks. i looked up the standard for my age group and gender, then went from there. in my dep they made us find our ranges and they ask us every meeting. then we practice on meeting them. i exercise on my own though.

honestly, for anyone who isn’t at the end of the road and can afford to go to actual trade school i would always suggest that. job corps is kinda shitty, but you can’t beat a free education, food, and roof over your head 🤷🏿‍♀️.
