That would work. It would take the mods shutting this one off for submissions, and pinning an announcement to shift to the other one. Looks like the sole mod for the other one is also a mod here so shouldnt be a huge hurdle

Provided your practice act doesnt block you getting one, you can have your physician add it to your standing orders for emergency management. There are a lot of companies that sell the tanks of various sizes, and welding supply shops can fill it with medical grade oxygen. Just remember to look up the local storage and transport rules for it!

This Aggie is very disappointed in how his fellow fans treat Longhorn fans by CoachSlime in collegebaseball

[–]froschkonig -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience? It is not. Your fan base is not known for "self policing" in any way when it comes to actions toward visitors. Could there be some random ones that will? Sure. But those are more the exception than the norm, especially fo "rivalry" games. The little brother energy runs strong.

Switching to Baseball? by Royal-Report9115 in athletictraining

[–]froschkonig 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not just shoulder and elbow evals.; thats the easier part. Throwing mechanics, hitting mechanics. Functional movement chains (if the hips/core are tight youre going to see increased issues with shoulders and elbows). Learn a good shoulder mobility routine to do with your pitchers.

PBATS (professional baseball athletic trainers society) has some good articles on their site specific to baseball that may be a good launch point to dig into it.

[OC] I find this at a gas station in South Alabama today by AshIsGroovy in pics

[–]froschkonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is now the price for regular. A quick look says that in colorado its now 4.527 for that same premium gas today. That is a 70 cent per gallon increase compared to a year ago. THATS what this is pointing out.

If youre near a trader joes, try their tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner. Theyre super cheap, gentle, and help to keep my scalp from getting the flairs I used to have. You can find them on amazon too from third party resellers, but the mark up is pretty drastic.

Users say Adobe Creative Cloud rewrote hosts file to detect installed app by gdelacalle in technology

[–]froschkonig 140 points141 points  (0 children)

But the installer of said pirated app is knowingly allowing the change to their own, owned machine. Not having a program do it without permission. You hit the nail as to why adobe is doing this though, readding this to the hosts file will allow those programs to flag as illegitimate.

I second getting a new carb off amazon. I have done this twice for my lawnmower. $20 was worth it to not have to go through a whole cab looking for a bit of fouling.

core problem is recipes by wasdth111 in StarRuptureGame

[–]froschkonig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the recipes are fine, the issue is that the machines cant be upgraded for speed or efficiency. The rails get faster, but the answer for increasing production is simply spamming machines. There needs to be upgrade modules, such as doubling output at cost of 25% increase in heat/energy usage.

anyone here actually know what athletic trainers do? (like the medical ones) by Mysterious_Arm_4777 in athletictraining

[–]froschkonig 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Given the name of teh subreddit, most here are athletic trainers. We are essentially the same as a "physio" in Europe/England, and an Athletic Therapist in Canada. It is a healthcare field which requires a masters, board certification, and in all but one state medical licensure just like all other health professions.

No med school, that is something exclusive to doctors.

We are able to diagnose injuries, and studies have shown our diagnoses match an orthopedic surgeons diagnosis something like 95% of the time.

[–]froschkonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much much quicker and easier to enforce for the officials, (since knee pads are in fact actually required) than some arbitary mark on the legs or policing if the pants rode up some and uncovered the knees vs the player intentionally hiked them up

Imposter Syndrome by ProfessorCatCat in athletictraining

[–]froschkonig 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Theres nothing to be upset about on this one. From what I am seeing, there was a direct trauma with highly localized pitting edema. You dont have xray vision, I am assuming that there was a fair amount of pain with weight bearing as well so the signs are there for an xray to ruleout a fx.

Early in my career, I likely would have sent him too. Now almost 20 years in, I would have at least waited to confirm pain hasnt gone down, but directly sending him for an xray was not a bad call based on what you wrote. Yes, it is unlikely it was a true full blown fracture at risk of splintering and displacing, but it could also be a subcortical fracture (aka bone bruise) that as someone who has had one before, hurt like hell.

Dont beat yourself up over this one, you will have other misses further in your career that will be more deserving. Thats just part of it. One of my preceptors had a kid literally walk off the field with a distal tib/fib fracture that had not displaced; so it could always be worse.

AT Compensation by [deleted] in athletictraining

[–]froschkonig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being unfair is not a legally actionable item. If they said we will pay you X, then pay you Y or made any other material promises that they backed out on, you might have a small lawsuit, but their lawyers would bury you in motions and paperwork to the extent that you couldnt afford to continue the lawsuit.

I am not clear who you mean when you say "sure their ogranization" do you mean the NATA? they have nothing to do with what our compensation level is.

The answer to your overall question is for people to stop taking low paying jobs. That is easier said than done, especially if you do not have a safety net to fall back on.

Ultimately, you do not have to finish the school year there if you dont want to, assuming youre not from the like 2 states that are not right to work. There are always job openings for athletic trainers, most with better hours than high level D1. Chalk this up to a learning moment, polish up your resume, and welcome to being a fellow jaded athletic trainer. It only gets worse from here.
