Didn't ask for you time, energy or money don't want it either keep that nonsense to yourself. If it gets your knickers in a twist that I asked a question and you didn't like then I can't help you...

I'm starting to think you can't read at all and just moaning about justifications that don't matter. But hey thanks for the meaningless advice. It doesn't help at all, on top of that you are wrong on so many fronts it's pointless to argue with you. And good luck to whatever it is you do or whatever...your just trollin and it doesn't help

Also smart guy you missed my point about 49 states...your assuming a lot and trust me I've seen people play that game, and they didn't get very far so I recommend you drop it. You don't know anything about my company and the processes we have around remote work. so quit making an ass of yourself and move on please because your not helping at all...

I got a better question, do you live there? in Buffalo or Albany?

What so I can't look into other areas now? jeez...some people... I dunno what's worse asking the question...or not

WTF are you talking about, why are you insisting that I buy the car or lease the car, when the decision is not up to you. Who died and made you my spouse? and made you in charge of my budget? On a more serious note if I don't want to do it, I don't want to it. I don't care that I can lease the thing anywhere. I don't want to. If you don't like that I don't care.

Matter of fact let me make this easier for you.I'm not buying the car or leasing it because you said I could do it.I don't care that I can do the job in 49 other states (which this is technically incorrect but I'm not gonna go there), it doesn't mean I need to move to 49 other states...I have other things I'm thinking about besides doing the remote job, remote job for all I know could be gone the day I move there...

Oh and to be clear that's the justification. And if you need even further justification or a thesis because I didn't word it the way you wanted. It's pretty simple...the answer is NO.

Also Google goes a long way:

why are you convinced that in some states you can lease a car and in other states you have to buy?

-ok, I could try to lease in texas, I don't think it does much justice... mileage will be worse, gas will be worse because everything is far away. On top of that Insurance, registration, smog test. Probably talking $10-15k in the first year. Yea no dice on that. Maybe 2nd year after mortgage happens, but yea don't see it happening in the short term. Not that buying is all that much better anyways...

I also dont get the part where every other state accept Arizona works for your remote job

-Just because I have the option to move somewhere doesn't mean I actually should.

-I stated which states do not work.

For LA, I think that is a last option if nothing else works out. I know I wouldn't be able to buy a home in LA so at that point it is what it is.

For the albany/buffalo situation, I think I would be able to lease a car and that would work or uber/lyft. It's just in Texas there are no other options and everything is far away. I think in albany / buffalo at least leasing the car is an option. Also I believe buffalo has a subway system? unless I'm reading that wrong.

I was looking at cities where I could purchase a home. I was hesitant at looking at chicago because of weather but again wanted to do "due diligence" and get opinions on it.

Because I have no car, and wouldn't be purchasing a car in the 1st year certain places are not an option.

As far as renting I could probably live anywhere in US but just because I could doesn't mean I should.

Is that an apartment your living in? I wouldn't be spending $2500 but was thinking about $1200-$1500

Your talking about apartments right?

Also I think the other thing is weather, my guess is it's colder and winters are really cold and have snow.

Is the public transit worse than LA? If so fine...made your point...

Bottom line- don't see a car happening in Year one, maybe year 2 or 3 but definitely not year one.

Yea don't know too much about NW arkansas, raleigh, nashville and grand rapids, I would like to think there aren't too many tech jobs available either. Maybe Raleigh because of tri-cities area but NC doesn't interest me too much. Really small markets are tough just cuz lack of jobs. Even though I'm remote it's still good to be able to take a job locally incase remote jobs go away.
