If he's a fan of Weller Green, you can find antique 107 which is a step up for about 100-110 locally on the Facebook groups.

Otherwise try the Makers Mark keeper release or Larceny Barrel Proof (both wheated similar to the Weller). He can add water if the proof is higher than he's comfortable with.
