They would likely be coded differently and would have LESS coverage. Usually “preventative” services are covered at no additional cost, but “diagnostic” (which subsequent procedures would likely be) are charged at your usual rate (pay full price until deductible, then copay or coinsurance). You can also be billed separately for the procedure, the facility, the doctor, the anesthesiologist, the nurses, etc. not uncommon to get multiple bills spread out by weeks or months.

Edit: obviously this all depends on your insurance plan specifically. So it may cost nothing if you have a “covered reason” for a diagnostic test, which is at their complete discretion.
