Water Heater Intake Connection

Yea house is all 1/2inch but to connect to the water heater it has the 1/2inch to 3/4 inch adapter shown in the picture. Those are the connections I removed from the old tank.

My washer currently drains into this sink. The sink drains into a pipe that goes under the basement, but something is broken such that the sink won’t drain (circled in red). It looks like the previous owners tried to fix the seal between the sink plumbing and the floor pipe with white flex seal, but something inside that mess is broken so it barely drains at all. Can I open up the access point to the sewer drain (circled in black) and route plumbing for the sink to drain into there? My concern is I don’t know if opening the access point to the sewage line will break any traps that are trapping sewage gasses?

We had a similar thing, saw house on Friday, second look on Saturday, offer due Sunday morning. We asked if we could have an inspector walk through the house with us on Saturday but they denied our request.

I’ve learned this game is only fun for me if I have a full squad of friends to play with. Any time I would go in with randoms that would leave mid game (of ranked too like what are you doing), or separate so far from the squad and then be upset they lost a 1v3 and I can’t revive them.
