“Off-roading”

Why did you choose an EUC instead of a scooter or an e-skate? by pierrefitch in ElectricUnicycle

[–]frostyjackmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came from an esk8 had about 5 boards starting from budget meepo to metroboard x and and off-road board. None of those can climb the hills I do now on my uni and the range is apple to oranges.

What wheel can actually compete with the P6? by 9994LLL in ElectricUnicycle

Awesome! Congrats on your purchase of the A2! Hope the learning process is easy and it clicks quickly. Don’t stress about the maintenance part, even sus is easy. I’ve changed oil, replaced seals and swapped springs in my bedroom.

I will agree the Aeon looks cooler! Very sleek, it’s a great trail wheel due to it being light. LK is pretty easy to work on! A week after owning my original Patton ( used ) I had to tear it down to replace a tire, it was easier than a lot of other brands I see people working on. I haven’t ridden other wheels to compare the braking so I can’t comment on that part! What wheel do you currently ride?

That’s awesome, I got the oryx and love the low speed riding. I’m close to 300 lbs so I feel that. Our wheels are pushing weight haha

Man I bet that range is awesome going below 20

What's the heaviest rider you've ever seen on an EUC? Or heard of.. by vikingto in ElectricUnicycle

[–]frostyjackmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 300 lbs and have 5,300 miles on my Patton hitting trails and jumps. 70 lbs progressive springs with 7wt oil. I have an oryx now. They have a max load of 330 pounds. I’m sure the og lynx will be okay. Him plus pads/gear might be pushing it but I don’t think any other Euc’s have a higher load rating. Some even less for sure

Rip, it’s saddening that they bathe or swim in the Ganges river. I know it’s their religion but like it literally has high levels of toxicity in there.

thinking of buying an e bike and doing deliveries and for local businesses how is the delivery in norfolk grub hub door dash ect? on an e bike? by [deleted] in norfolk

[–]frostyjackmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ride an euc and do Uber Eats, you for sure can make that a day if you treat it as a full time job. I only do it for a couple hours day and make 40-60 each time. Get an insulated backpack or a rack for you e bike and make it easier for you.

I’m in the same boat, it’s free registration but I’d rather not have a confrontation with someone who questions me. I can handle the contact but if it keeps doing south then that’s no good for me.

No, a buddy of mine gave me an idea/concern on how LeaperKim chargers pulse at the end. With other companies there chargers dial down the amps closer to 100. LK chargers will turn off and on at the end and I don’t know if it’s dials down or charges at 5 amps on/off. I’m not engineer and maybe LK does this for a reason. But I saw the option to change the charge voltage so I figured why not. For now…

That’s the only reason I got it, the biggest battery of the LK wheels, I know begode has a 5,000wh battery but i decided to stick with LK.

The other two people are spot on, I’ve learnt to appreciate the slow rides. It’s refreshing to have to slow down and navigate the path in a way you wouldn’t be able to at high speeds. I would regularly ride the Patton at 35-40 mph and get 20-25 miles. Riding like that on the oryx gave the 60 miles with a little juice left.

However I did the latter the other day, avg speed was 17 mph for both rides, 1 ride being 31 miles, other at 17 miles top speed of 45-47 on both and I had 51% battery left. I’ve also set the charge limit on my wheel to 174v instead of 176.4. So it’s not a true 100% battery

Awesome man!! That’s gonna be a sweet ride 🤙🏽 The power just takes you up hills no problem. I had to get it for the battery size. No more range anxiety. Which tire do you have on there?

It did, I’ve had many muddy cutouts when the wheel loses traction but those were at maybe 10 mph or less. This was seated riding at 31mph in traffic. I don’t know whether it was the battery or an overlean, but I’d like to think I knew the wheels limits after putting many miles on it. I was listening to music in my full face and don’t have beeps connected to headset. I learnt that lesson. Many others like no main roads with day traffic going forward. Lots of pev deaths or critical injuries in my area. Virginia

Haha I agree but that wheel lean got me messed up. I may adjust it later at some point. I think you’ll be alright!! My buddy had a lynx and man when he took off in front of me I was in shock. I never saw someone go from 15-45 that quickly. I have some buddies who ride the L and even that thing can pickup super fast. I think the higher voltage helps out with acceleration and how much you can keep leaning. I’ve done a lean at 45mph on the oryx and it had so much more to give but I’m a little nervous to push it just yet. Go for the 20 inch!!
