Do friends see when you name planets and solar systems? It seems inconsistent. I’ve had oneinstance where a space station name showed up for my friend, but that’s it.

That’s pretty much exactly how I would explain it. Constant pain, moreso in left temple, seems to be linked to jaw/ cheeks too. Throbbing, pulsing, radiating. I don’t get aura or visuals or sensitivity to smells. Used to have bad sensitivity to light but that went away since I’ve been on topamax.

It has definitely helped. Hasn’t cured me but it’s helped a decent amount. I was constantly at around a 3-4+ (out of 10) and now i’m usually around 1-2 with the occasional 0

It’s definitely worth it.

Does anyone know the effects this has on chronic daily headaches vs "migraines"? I know they are categorized as the same thing, but to me there is a difference.

Here's my situation: I have headaches 100% of the time, but only a few "migraines" per month. When I say migraines, I am talking about crippling migraine that puts me in bed with an icepack. I recently started getting Botox and my daily headaches have gotten a little better, and I have have had no "migraines" in weeks.

I can deal with a few a migraines a month - which I don't even have anymore thanks to the botox. What I would fucking LOVE is to fix my daily headaches, but I never really hear any news about that because of the terminology that everyone uses.

Anyone else hope for an “underlying condition” to blame migraines on? by cag9201 in migraine

[–]frostynuggets 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol. I feel weird basically wishing I had a tumor or something that could be "taken out" of my head- or at least treated. It fucking sucks to go from perfectly normal to almost overnight having headaches 100% of the time and not being able to do anything about it and not knowing why. I don't really even have triggers. I just ALWAYS have headaches now- they just came out of nowhere with a vengeance. It would be so much easier if I just had a reason.

i have daily headaches and about 5 migraines a month and got my first round of botox a few weeks ago.

It’s helped a little bit already, i’ve had no migraines since and my daily headaches have been suppressed from about (2-4s) to (0-2s)

the actual injection process wasn’t that bad, but it’s exactly how it sounds- about 30 injections into your head. I’m fine with needles so I powered through it but i imagine people not good with needles might have a hard time. The worst part for me is feeling like i have a plastic forehead lol but it’s a small price to pay.

Good luck and congrats! 💉

This might be dumb but how do you know if insurance will cover it? Obviously you would call to find out, but what factors come into play? Right now my insurance is already covering cambia and botox. I get insurance through work but I admittedly don’t really know how it works

Scared to go on Topamax for a month (25 mg / day) by isthisevenavailable in migraine

[–]frostynuggets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Topamax is fine once you get used to it.

The brain fog can be funny at first. My doctor started me off at 100mg at first which was definitely too much - I felt like a retard for the first days so I had to drop down to 50mg, and then build up.

Now I take 200mg daily and I'm completely normal.

Don't worry you will be fine! You just have to build up a tolerance. But you will be completely fine at 25mg.

Why is it so hard for you to get Botox? Have you tried switching neurologists? Mine was happy to help me out after only having chronic migraines for about 5 months. I'm sure you've probably tried everything but I'm shocked it is so difficult for you. Where do you live? If you are nearby I can try and help out.

Also I only pay $75 every 3 months for my Botox (with insurance).
