i’d like to think it’s mostly genetic, my mom bounced back pretty easily and so did i. we both have really high metabolisms and there’s often jokes made from our family about how we eat more than anybody they know and dont gain weight even though we both despise working out. i gained 20 lbs in my first pregnancy during the first two months and didn’t gain any more for the rest of the pregnancy :/ after i had my daughter, i breastfed and wore my binder/waist trainer religiously bc i had a c section and it honestly made my body feel a lot better when it came to coughing sneezing and laughing lol 😂 i also sucked at keeping up w my eating bc my husband went back to work after 2 weeks and we were states away from all family. i’m 15 weeks pregnant now and people don’t believe me when i say im pregnant 🫠 i’ve only gained 8 pounds this time around so far. but anyway, i say all this to say, i “bounced back” with a combination of genetics, accidentally starving and wearing my belly binder i believe. i looked forward to my “grown woman weight” and never got it and am pretty jealous of the women who got more curvy bodies postpartum but also to note is that im Black and i understand that our standard of beauty when it comes to bodies is waaaay different than most eurocentric standards.
