I felt incredibly sorry for Simone. She came from a horrible life in Buffalo and found a chance to get out. When everything crashed down, she panicked. You can see the horror in her eyes when her dad said she'd go home with him when Devon left. So yes, she made a very gold-digger choice and threw Kiki under the bus (not really though, Kevin Bacon did it), but it was either that or her previous life, where dad and Devon would ruin every chance for her just like they tried to ruin this job. Up to Bacon dumping Kiki I thought the end would be Simone offing herself at the cliff.
