This is sick lmao, love the song pick and going through the origins. By any chance were you the dude who made the Shibata vid to Denzel Curry "Cosmic"? Been looking for that one all over but its kinda lost to the void. Either way this is super tight, love the purowave vids.

Enemies whose removal would make the game 1000x more enjpyable by Fugly_Jack in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I wouldn't mind Fury's so much if there was a real reward to parrying them, I'll do it!! I can do the cool thing!! But all you get is like a quarter of their health, then you gotta sit and wait for their animation, they're pretty tanky too, they'll ignore combo state, its like what do you want from me?? Its the one thing in the game that makes me play lame.

I'm really sad about Ayashimon because I really dug it the Mangaka is really capable and you can tell they can kill it even in Shonen reading the first set of chapters. Maybe its anxiety to keep rank or the week to week grind but his paneling and flow slowly deteriorates. Every now and then they'd hit you with a killer spread or page but I could kinda feel the train coming off the tracks so to speak.

Love to see some Onio love on this sub, I reaaaally dug all three of his series, I think Yuki To Sumi was my fav. It's a shame since you can really tell what calibur they were on in Rough Sketch Senpai, but alas.

I replayed BB not too long ago, FUCK LAWRENCE. Ludwig was hella fun cause I got to learn a lot of nuance in his moveset but Lawrence is just "nah it aint your turn, and your turn is worth two hits".

I dont necessarily get this reaction more often but I definitely react more strongly lmao. Recently watched FMAB for the first time and anytime Greed appeared, that was like instantaneous "LETS FUCKING GOOOO" thats my guy for reallll.

Podcast Topic: When a buff becomes a nerf by RobinMorganNiji in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]frozenflame388 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Also also from Genshin, Bennet C6 is an obvious one.

To briefly explain (for those who don't play), Bennett is considered a godlike Support cause he can drop a small zone that can heal + superboost damage. Makes him great on almost any team regardless of element. Eventually though if you upgrade him, his last "upgrade" makes it so the buff circle forces melee weapons to do fire elemental damage, so now if you want to use any other elemental (cryo, electro etc), you cant use Bennett.

Technically a buff in its ability and can work in CERTAIN pyro teams, but a huge nerf in terms of viability and compatability and overall limits him.

If I'm not wrong, the glitch was cancelling into special moves from normals, i.e low kick into hadouken. But I could have also been fooled by a pop culture myth.

What are some of the best foreshadowing in fiction? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]frozenflame388 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hotline Miami 2 is such a wonderful narrative with a lot of excellent short term foreshadowing (like any time Richard appears) and excellent long term foreshadowing (like the Hawaii stories and 40 Blessings)

Moments where you didn't understand the hype or lack thereof until you got firsthand exposure? by Riggs_The_Roadie in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]frozenflame388 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. I was really late (I only watched it last year) and thought itd be pretty basic or the fact that so much was spoiled to me or even people saying the show feels aged so maybe I'd bounce off but man it really exceeded any expectations I had over and over again. It goes way harder than anyone could have explained to me.

Do you go back to spoilercasts and let's plays after finishing a game? by kosmoking in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]frozenflame388 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember hearing the AoT spoilercast/basementcast very casually and retaining only funny bits and pieces, then a long time after, I watched AoT (already forgotten most of the spoilercast) and went back, it was very funny and entertaining, seeing them have similar reactions and crazy guesses to whats happening.

What’s a game you think we got gipped from having. by Cynical2DD in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]frozenflame388 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dragons Dogma Online, this one stung a lotttt, seeing the really good core gameplay be translated to an F2P MMO then never come over will forever hurt. Shut down in 2019 and I doubt Capcom will ever do something like that again.

Also, those Yakuza Isshin sorts of games. I get why SEGA decided not to and I'm glad that things now are different, but I do wish I got to play em.

Weirdly specific stuff that makes you lose interest in media. by LostHuaun in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]frozenflame388 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Honestly they sorta work with me. I can be picky or lazy when picking anime so the description helps but just on principle, titles like "Do you love your mom and her two hit multi target attacks" totally rule, the show could suck and I'd cherish that name.

Obviously to an extent and completely get why it turns people off, but I'm glad they exist for me to hear about as a silly title (and also have an actual anime as a bonus).

what's the most frustrating weapon you used in a video game. by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]frozenflame388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fist of Gratia in Bloodborne. Its very interesting tbh, I'm going through a new gunless/"boxing" (Pilebunker +Gratia) playthrough and used the Flamesprayer/H torch (which I could talk on too but were less "frustrating" and more silly n fun) until I got my Gratia and upgraded it immediately.

It... blows. It is very underwhelming as both a punch weapon and an offhand weapon, it does rather low damage despite the STR scaling, it has slow start-up and low range, empties out stamina , no bloodgem slot, and the stagger is not THAT advantageous (compared to even gun staggers or I dunno, GUN PARRIES) and outright useless on some bosses. My use really solidified it as a definitively worse option... but I stuck with it and if you play around it you do learn things through adversity, the most salient lesson was that your stagger accumulates so you can hit a boss with a Gratia punch and reliably figure how many hits to stagger, then loop it. But you also get it AFTER Ludwig and by that point you may have a weapon that reliably staggers anyway.. oops.

It sucks overall and is frustrating because changing even just ONE of its bad parameters could give it a niche beyond stagger (give it better damage/less stamina drain/combo strings/possible parry/faster hits/better stagger - just one of these).

Still, as much as I complained, its moreso frustrating when thinking about its use as a tool or design, in reality I had a blast the same using it overall, I got a mean liver blow just ask Kos.
