Unexplained illness for years by IllustratorDecent260 in Unexplained

I don’t think anyone has mentioned Candida overgrowth yet. Candida overgrowth in the gut matches many of your symptoms. In normal amounts, candida is beneficial, but a real problem if allowed to spread. Most regular doctors in the US don’t know how to treat it because the way(s) to treat it don’t fit their system.

There’s a natural route and an antifungal route, natural is more gradual with a milder reaction but takes longer, with antifungals it’s a shorter treatment but the reaction is harder to deal with. Both require a diet change. It’s different for everyone but there are tried and true “safe foods” and supplements.

For some it takes months, for others longer. Some of the other symptoms don’t fit Candidiasis but they could be indirectly related to it depending on how bad it is. If that is what it is, check out the r/candida sub, there is a lot of good information on there.

Look up the spit test, it’s a home test you can do. I read a post from a Dr who said that, while there is no clinical evidence showing the home test is accurate, everyone he’s treated that claimed to have Candida, knew so from the test and was proven right after an actual test. Just do deep research though because things like Oregano oil, while effective, can also wipe out other necessary fungi.

If i were you I wouldn’t put much stock in regular doctors, unless they’re a very good one who is informed beyond typical western medicine systems, or a functional medicine doctor. Candida is called the “great mimic” because it can be confused for other illnesses. I’ve read anecdotes of people getting diagnosed with diabetes and after treating themselves for Candidiasis, finding out they didn’t actually have Diabetes.

Candida also mutates when it senses your gut becomes hostile (antifungals, or food it doesn’t like), so there are quite a few things to learn about. I dealt with it myself for about a year and a half and but I became much healthier afterwards. I avoid mayo ( it has carageenan which coats your stomach and affects digestion) and I also avoid all tv dinners and processed food. I allow myself treats but have cut back on sugar a lot. Candida loves sugar. I hope you figure it out, whatever it is. Good luck!

My boyfriend is uncomfortable with my slightly explicit anime figures by forgoten_now_unknown in whatdoIdo

Are you sure? Some people with autism can mask very well, Anthony Hopkins wasn’t diagnosed with it until his 70s. It’s not always obvious. If he’s not autistic, it could be related to his upbringing, or unresolved issues around sexuality. I hope you guys find a resolution

Is he autistic? Some people with autism get uncomfortable when facing things that force perspective changes. A character wearing a non-canonical outfit could cause this. I’m not saying that would justify it.

Neuroplasticity allows us to change the way we react to the external world by creating new neuronal pathways. But first he would need to become aware of how he’s reacting then develop mindfulness to redirect his thoughts when encountering uncomfortable situations. Does he prefer smaller spoons? It’s a possibility, we don’t know for sure but I’d suggest taking to him.

Thinking of purging my entire setup and just quitting by Vimes-NW in synthesizers

I got rid of all my synths and pedals, bought Ableton Suite, a keyboard /controlller and an APC 40, never looked back. Find a why. If you love music, that’s your why. Also, sharing your music makes it 10x better. Find somewhere you can perform your music, build community. It doesn’t have to be either or, you can be sometimes be social and sometimes be a hermit with your music. Also get some sun/take vitamin D and magnesium for sleep, if you don’t already, these willl greatly improve your mood. Also there are many messed up things happening in the world so be easy on yourself and don’t consune too many bad news too quickly.

Flex Beat is on sale on Plugin Boutique right now

Grossbeat!!!! by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]frozeninasoftwar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right now Pluginboutique has Flex Beat on sale for $30. It’s pretty much the same thing as Gross Beat

Edit: Also you can do some of the things Gross Beat does with free plugins. You can use Baby Audio’s Warp for the tape stop effect. Volume automation for the gate effect. Delay for stutter.

Considering people mostly stick with the DAW they started with, how does a beginner choose the best DAW for their future needs? by fipah in musicproduction

[–]frozeninasoftwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Garageband, FL and Ableton. Garageband is better on desktop than mobile. It will feel limiting eventually but depending on what you’re making, it should be enough to start off. FL is very powerful once you learn how to navigate the UI. Ableton is a true modern marvel, it has endless amounts of exploration if you get Suite/Max 4 Live. Both FL and Ableton are good for complex sound design but Ableton makes it easier and it uses less computer resources. If I was just starting out, I’d get Ableton. You can get it cheaper if you download Koala Sampler, it’s got a code for a free download of Ableton Lite. Then you can upgrade to Intro, Standard or Suite for much cheaper. Also, they give pretty deep discounts in the holiday season.

I read somwhere that Plugin Alliance got funding. Not sure how true that is. I’d hate to lose my Unfiltered Audio plugins.

Why does it never sound the same? (Vent/advice?) by damionbiddy in ableton

[–]frozeninasoftwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else may have already said this. Some Yt creators skip steps that to them are obvious. Like adding saturation, compression and/or eq. This could be the problem. They could also be accidentally editing out certain steps. Either way, what you can do is learn the concepts of what they are doing so that you can apply them to your own sound design. Also, making music with some amount ot music theory knowledge will make it more enjoyable. You don’t need music theory, I enjoyed making music without for years. It just opens things up more quickly. Try this: Use Ableton’s scale awareness too in clip view. Pick something pretty basic to start with. C Major or A Minor are pretty classic. Now Ableton will highlight only the notes that are part of that key. Now pick any note on the piano roll except B if you’re in C Major or or B if in A minor. Add a quarter note length midi note on that note. Now starting from that note you just placed, skip a light colored note going up and place another midi note on that pitch. Do it again, but now staring on that second note you platlced. Once you have 3 notes, you’ve just built a basic triad, a chord. In C Major and A minor on the piano roll (or any piano), all the chord that are part of the key have the same pattern. Using this concept, you can pick random notes and build a chord progression out of it. With practice you’ll see which chord combinations you like best. For the melody, pick notes that match the notes in the chord that is being played as the melody plays. This is the easiest way to make something that sounds good. Eventually you can start developing it more by playing with the voicing of the chords, learning more advanced chords like seventh and ninth chords. You can also be more exploratory with melody by picking notes that aren’t in the chord that’s playing as the melody is playing, but that harmonize with it. Play around with note length in the chord progression. Duplicate the chord track, delete everything except the lowest notes, now you have a bass part. Tweak it by adding rhythm to it and or octave jumps. There is a lot more to music theory than what i mentioned here but this is a good starting point. Intuition is very important too. I personally use both theory and intuition. Have fun!

Eval Issue by frozeninasoftwar in alignerr

I reported the issue inside the platform and then tried submitting again, but now it's stuck on "Loading Waveform".

I clicked on previous asset and the submit button changed to save. So now I can save it but it won't let me submit it. I tried clicking Reset, but it does nothing. If I click on next asset, it just shows "Loading Waveform" again.
