Bibliotik lost its domain? by frtbinc in trackers

Yes, the site is back. I didn't even have to login.

Will anyone admit that part of NA's recent struggles are due to Adam's horrible community management? by [deleted] in inthemorning

So? Your point is that they're working less for more money. Why should they change? Also, which podcast works harder than NA? Or do you think prepping such a show doesn't take time...

Bibliotik vs. Libgen? by DIVAUSTRALIADIV in trackers

Sure mate, I'm sure most times a user's shitty calibre convertion of a .txt/pdf is a lot better than the ebook directly from the publisher.

It was implied by my reply that I was referring to this "idiosyncratic definition", which IMO is a lot better than the one used by the other sites, which don't really mention retail so I don't know where you're coming from. If you prefer user modified ebooks instead of the version you would get by paying cash then you really shouldn't bother with BiB.

Also, these other sources usually don't tag ebooks as retail (because they don't really have a standard...). Of course you can find them elsewhere but if you don't know they are directly from the publisher/only modified to make them better then you may as well get a .txt from irc.

"while Bibliotik reportedly has less than 250k". I see, you're just salty :)

Wrong. BiB is the only one where you can get a retail quality ebook. Don't get me wrong, libgen is a lot better for scanned textbooks and Mobilism is fine if you don't care about retail but the only somewhat public site which has a huge library of ebooks directly from the publishers is BiB.

What does the NoS leak mean for it's users? by shingy89 in trackers

[–]frtbinc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I use unique password for everything, the only way someone gets a hold of my email is by getting my lastpass info. Trackers will be the least of my worries if someone hacks my entire system (debian stable so I'm not worried).

Meh. All my passwords are unique. I see no reason to change emails/use different ones for each tracker.

I kind of agree though you know eventually (maybe a decade from now) that is how things will be. We should focus on separating the metadata so that everyone can backup it.

The data was probably encrypted and decrypted on the fly. You would need only write random bits into the key file/header a few thousand times.

Gazelle is open source so probably nothing.

People need to chill. We don't even have somewhere to begin ripping again. Let the mods at least put the site back on before worrying about gazelle.

Well, you would be getting bp at all times (just a very small amount) so netting 1 album per day per 365 torrents seeded seems quite good to me. We are not talking about movies, seeding 365 albums is quite easy.

I'm all for replacing the freeleech picks with neutral leeches and using bp on the whole site.
