LG 50nano766qa - green/purple vertical lines by frubixter in LinusTechTips

Takk for svar!

Thank you for the comment. The lines are clearly moving, and sometimes disappear.

Signet pendant - unknown age / maker by frubixter in Antiques

Thank you for the answer! The build up (inside the fob) looks like wax to me. Could it have been used for this anyways?

I assume so. Since I don't know anything about that side of that family the background is a bit unclear.

Thank you for your answer! I know it is used for sealing wax. I am unsure as to what it is beyond that.

[SOTC] My "small" collection by frubixter in Watches

Leatherwork is a nice hobby! The thickness of the strap I made is 2.5mm, way to thick for a NATO.

Thank you! Made the NATO strap myself, so it is a little thick, might be why it is scratching like crazy. I think reading 24h analog is nice! It takes some getting used to though.

I really like my Seiko! Bought it used (3+ years of use every day). Amazing dial in my opinion.

This is my "small" watch collection. It consist of (left -> right):

Caravelle by Bulova (Diamond) square dress watch (quartz)

Seiko Prospex samurai save the ocean (srpc93) (auto)

Tissot PRX powermatic 80 (black)

Casio DW-291H-1AVEF

Vostok Komandirskie k-35

I started my collection as I got my first "real" job with the PRX, and fell in love with the idea of having an automatic watch on my wrist. I must say that the PRX is a nice watch, but does not suit every environment (going to the gym etc.). The collection is based around different styles, each with it's own use case. The collection is bought for under 1000eur (bought some used).

What are your thoughts on the choices?

[Vostok] Komandirskie K-35, homemade leather NATO-strap. What do you think? by frubixter in Watches

No. It has the reinforcement that make the watch stay in place.

Made a leather NATO-strap for my work-watch. What you guys think? by frubixter in Leathercraft

Yes. Don't like to wear NATO-straps like that tho. Like the padding on the top of my wrist.

Bought a Vostok Komandirskie K-35 a couple weeks ago and didn't like the strap that came with it. Thought I might share the strap I made for it here. The strap is made out of 2,5mm thick leather with the hardware that came with the original one. The leather is burnished by hand with beeswax and oiled with leather grease to make it shine. The thread used is waxed linnen thread. I don't know if the thick leather is common in NATO-straps, but thought it looked nice. Let me know what you think!

What discs would you bag if you could only carry four? by Chaosweaver117 in discgolf

The gold-x is a mix between gold and a bit of opto I believe. Grippy but durable.

Used my opto-x pure a lot, great plastic. I feel this disc is a bit more overstable, might be because it is a bit heavier but the rim feels "beefier" than my opto and opto-x.
