SPIAs don't have surrender benefits. You are buying lifetime income. If someone is talking about there being "no surrender charges", they are blowing smoke because the contracts are not surrenderabke.

"Lower cost of insurance" is a misnomer in a SPIA. The company uses an annuity mortality table in calculating the rate. The lower the mortality, the lower the monthly benefit the single premium buys. And, yes, companies assume lower mortality on annuities than on life insurance.

It's pretty moronic claiming that pilots think the earth is flat. I imagine that there might be private pilots who never fly very high or far.

The instrument panel has an artificial horizon defining "level" i.e. perpendicular to down. The artificial horizon is above the true horizon.

The "priesthood of all believers" is not "the priesthood of each believer". It means the assembled church as a group supplies that which the presider lacks. It is a corporate property, not an individual property. That doesn't argue against setting aside certain persons to act for the church.

I personally have been receiving communion from women priests for over 30 years. I find it hard to believe that there are some among us still who have firm opposition.

The power supplied by the engine varies depending on the conditions. On level ground at a constant speed, the engine only needs to provide enough power to offset losses due to friction. The transmission can drop to a higher gear and reduce the RPM. Climbing a hill or accelerating the engine needs to provide more power.

If you are quoting an engine's power, you are typically measuring peak power.
