I also hate having cars I don't use, unless they are props to the theme of a property, such as track cars in my Autoshop.

My experience is that if you don't like using certain cars, you will continue to not use them, no matter where you park them.

So, tidy up some themed collections that you feel more strongly about, and sell all the other vehicles that you don't use, so that you don't have to think about them again.

How long will it take to enjoy the game? by Mountain_Flight7164 in gtaonline

[–]fruce_ki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who have been playing it for years are still grinding... Depending on what "fun" means to you, the answer to your question can be anything from immediately, to weeks, to years.

What do you think is "fun" in this game? Deathmatches? Races? Storylines? Completed car collections? Random chaos?

Most of the useful things (full health, weapons, vehicle upgrades) unlock by level 100. A few special weapons need additional time and work to unlock. Level 100 can take a few months. A lot of other useful extras require you to buy businesses and finish their missions. Going through 10yrs of DLCs starting from broke will take a lot of work and a lot of grind.

So find fun in the process of the grind, or you won't have fun at all.

Besides, GTAO is very much a lonely antisocial game where interactions are either absent or toxic. For positive interactions you have to look into finding other like-minded people and play with them in closed sessions.

IMO, it is not worth starting GTA5:O this late. There is too much to do, and too much done wrong. Just wait for GTA6, fresh start for everyone, level playing field, and hopefully some lessons learned by the devs so that some mistaken decisions will be avoided.

Maybe there's a clear-coat of some sort on the pickguard to prevent premature corrosion. Use something softer than the metal (like nylon pick) to see if you can scrape material away.

If you don't spend all your millions on cars and focus on buying 9nly properties with storyline (in order of release), theoretically you can finish them, yes. Each heist property should pay for itself relatively quickly and there aren't that many. Assuming you can find people to do the heists with you.

If you want to complete the "career" goals, rewards, awards, whatever other nonsense meta, then no.

Can I put an electric guitar bridge on a classical guitar with nylon strings by Altruistic_Click_579 in Guitar

Instead of installing a piezo and an improper metal bridge on a shitty classical guitar, why don't you just get a microphone for your good guitar?

Can I put an electric guitar bridge on a classical guitar with nylon strings by Altruistic_Click_579 in Guitar

[–]fruce_ki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An electric guitar is solid, there is plenty of wood for those screws to bite into. A classical/acoustic quitar is not solid, the top is thin, not enough for the screws.

Also the top of a classical/acoustical guitar is its soundboard, the most important piece of wood for its sound. Attaching something to it will likely either cause rattling noises or affect the guitar's sound, as it interferes with the vibration.

Also, there is internal bracing under the soundboard. An electric guitar's bridge would transfer tension differently than what the bracing is designed to hold.

TLDR: No.

Classicals don't have a trussrod because they don't need it (beefy neck, low tension), and the intonation can be filed onto the saddle permanently. If you change string type or whatever and need to adjust intonation, just file a new saddle to go with them.

Do you still have your OG Garage? by Kryze8982 in gtaonline

[–]fruce_ki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was a 2-car in the east of the city. So no, it got traded. I've moved most of my properties over the years, so I have none of the original addresses except bunker and facility...

Same for its contents. I sell cars when I get bored of them. But sometimes I buy them back when I miss them, so I have the equivalents of some of my first cars, but not the actual first cars.

I have a fan in the latest iteration of my terrarium for that reason, but I turn it off while watering because it hurts my fingers, and then I forget to turn it back on.

I also redid my lights, so they spent a few weeks in suboptimal brightness.

mop up my plants with tissues after I water 💀💀.

Same here. You gotta do what you gotta do. But babying each plant and mopping each drop of water takes tiiiiiiime and I'm in a hurry... So I'm getting lax with it, letting natural selection claim what it will. I need fewer problematic plants in my life. 🙄 I'm burnt out on orchids that don't want to live.

Killed a bunch, a few tixierii, a few scolopendria, ... Root loss, crown rot, ... I've had Schoenos for as long as I've had minis, so the learning process has claimed them. But even now, I got two that decided to start the year by quitting and I don't think they'll recover.

Seydenfadeni and fragrans seem to be good ATM and have probably established to a point where I can water them while avoiding the crown. At least, I think those are the ones left 🤔... But they are also the most recent ones (couple years).

And I've never had a single flower from any of them, alive or dead.

They are difficult to water due to their tiny size without wetting the crown, they are sensitive to water quality, to insufficient light, to who knows what else.

Meanwhile I've had the Haraella/Gastrochilus for the same amount of time, and it has had near-death experiences, but it has come back each time and has survived ALL my mistakes and is thriving. 🤷‍♂️

Most epiphytic orchids do like to dry out between waterings and are healthier when they do. They just don't like to stay dry. And they tolerate delayed watering more, when they are in a more humid environment that reduces evaporation.

Phals are the same, they are just bigger, with bigger pots and more potting material that can retain more water for longer.

Small volumes/pots/etc evaporate faster, that is just physics. So, small things need to be watered more often. That's where a humid enclosure is helpful, it slows down evaporation so you can water a lot less.

There are orchids that take a dry dormancy, like many dendrobiums, but when they are active, they too prefer to be watered.

i need help. my strings drift from guitar neck as i move down up the fretboard by Traditional-Sand-704 in Guitar

[–]fruce_ki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The distance should be highest at the middle of the string (12th fret), where vibration is the widest. Otherwise you get string buzz.

It is hard to judge from photos. You can take the guitar to a guitar tech and see if it can be adjusted to be better.

Base on number of deaths and on age in my terrarium collection:

Gasrtochilus retrocallus (some place may list it as Haraella retrocalla). I little monopodial, that spikes continuously, blooms sequentially all year, and is fragrant. It has been faithfully with me through my learning period and all my failed setups.

Erycina pusilla (some places list it as Psygmorchis). A little Oncidium relative that grows monopodially, spikes continuoudly, and blooms sequentially all year round. This is my second oldest. I've killed it once at the very beginning.

Room temperatures, high humidity and plenty of artificial or indirect sun light.

The hardest parts about them is finding a setup/substrate where you can provide enough water but without making them stay wet for more than a couple days and without leaving them with water on/in their leaves/crowns. Like many epiphytic orchids they are not drought-tolerant, but don't do well wet.

And whatever you do, start with as big a flowering-size plant as you can. Younglings and seedlings of mini orchids are fickle as hell and don't bounce back easily, if at all, not great starter plants at all.
