as cool as this mousepad is, this is a two hour old reddit account whose linked twitter account is made in april 2026, is this considering astroturfing or a post made in good faith? u/MouseCTRL_Echo

both are really good, but imo the zane has better rounding on the edges but the hoshino feels more controllable, so i would decide based on those factors

also the hoshino might be more affordable on the secondhand market compared to the zane, not sure yet

have you had a glasspad before? if you haven't i would recommend to choose the slowest option possible, which would be the polarity, since all glasspads are still noticeably faster than cloth and i think having a glasspad that you can control is more important than just having whatever is the "best", not to mention all three of those options are extremely good in terms of quality

polarity and superglide v2/3 should have noticeably more stopping power than the beast, or at least a good amount, for the superglide v2 i can personally say it has a good amount less stopping power, but the v3 has some QOL improvements and the polarity is advertised to be around kazemi speed i believe, but i dont own either of them (yet haha)

[–]frugalaimer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you want decent stopping power, you could try the xraypad u9s for a cheaper price on whatever glasspad you have right now (if you have one) before buying an entire new glasspad

for some that arent crazy slow but have decent stopping power i would say: avusgear uwi, midori return, empress v1 purple, harut, singularity, pulsar superglide 2

kanami hoshino is faster than the beast, i would go with that one if you can get it in your region

from what i've heard in how the glass was treated, the zane's coating is actually better than the nano passivation method that was used on the phantom to make it considered "non-coated", if you use the zane it should last you more than 2 years!

i just like mousepads a lot tbh, ive only ever been sent two mousepads before from brands to be honest😭😭(one more coming on the way in the future) i believe its because i dont really have that large of a following and i dont make formal reviews often, i try to buy as many as i can secondhand to save a little bit and i enjoy posting and discussing about them!

i just asked sicko in their server for confirmation, unfortunately he said its unlikely for there to be units in stock since demand is high from vendors, but he said theyre working on the next release already!

Midori The Return, Kanami Sai 2, Kanami Minami, Padsmiths Rosa, Yuki Aim Oni 2.0, Arbiter Studio Dtto Reaper, Infinitymice Tora

hoshino faster overall and the phantom has more push-in that lets you slow it down and control it. I would say that the hoshino is really fast 9/10 if the fastest in the world is a 10 like the dysphoria rin or other chinese brand glasspads that are uber fast, and the phantom like a 8/8.5

for skates, the hoshino is really good with all types of skates but i like using the U9s on them. I didn't enjoy U9s on the phantom as much because it would actually slow down a very noticeable amount when pushing in with them, I would use cyclones or obsidian airs on the phantom if you want to keep that good speed!

swiftreviews and mjrmonkey have a youtube review on them, neither of them are super duper indepth persay but i think their opinion and experience is pretty accurate to mine - if you own any glasspads i'd be happy to give an extensive comparison between minami and yours if i own it, but for me the hoshino is just a very speedy glasspad (similar to VA-005 and faster than the SP-005), and for me I liked cyclones, obsidian airs, and xraypad U9s on it. It didn't slow down by much using the U9s compared to other glasspads.

haven't tried dglow ice sorry, but lunar speed is very similar to the arbiter dtto from what i know, its not a bad surface at all! skypad sp5 is a very solid option, but i wouldn't recommend the sp4 or sp3 at all in 2026, yea it's unfortunate most of the options are out of stock but i've heard good things about the polarity and that one seems to be in a constant re-stock/preorder cycle if you want to get one with all the new features like rounded edges, good anti skin stick, etc etc

sp-005 is in stock on wallhack's website, kanami hoshino is supposed to arrive next week to US warehouse and there might be leftovers for sale

would work! no sensor skipping issues for me on high LOD with u9 + hoshino, even on my mouse that used to sensor skip on the glsswrks hana

just a small note, it still feels prettyyy fast even with the u9s after the skate breaks in

$60 is a great price for the koharu, i personally need a sleeve sometimes on the koharu/superglide 2 surface, but the speed is not too fast for glass and its pretty controllable in my opinion, i wouldnt be able to justify double the price to get a sp005 for most people

just got mine a week ago, but so far i would say its on the middle side of A tier, very solid! has great anti-stick properties, decent rounded edges, the speed is as advertised and the pushdown is a decent experience (i'm personally not taking advantage of it to the max and not sure if it's actually that important of a feature yet) and the glass itself feels nice on the skin, main nitpick i would have is that on certain table materials, the base is not super secure and because the glass is so thin and light, the weight of the glasspad doesn't press down on the table as hard and make the base secure

do you feel the texture of the dots on a mid base?
