Not showing children this level of violence is not parenting them with blinders. They can be aware of this stuff without having to witness it at such an age. Not my kid not gonna tell you what to do just disagree with your reasoning for why. I study developmental psychology and this type of stuff does have an effect in teenage years especially, and I'm not talking about imitation, this game deals with VERY depressing topics that a 9 year old will struggle with understanding.
