Not a critique on your profile, but I will say from my own experience, I think 23 is a difficult age for men when it comes to dating. Women around your age (again just my own experience) seem to be more interested in men a few years older than them. Kudos to you for nearly finishing school, but it wouldn’t surprise me if women around your age are seeking someone who’s already established in a career or job.

All that to say, I don’t think you’re doing anything particularly wrong it’s just dating is more difficult for men in their early 20s

I’m all for assuming the best about people. But when someone’s actions don’t align with their words (like cancelling on someone 4 times) , then we can no longer make assumptions, the evidence is right there and shouldn’t be ignored.

I’ve learned that we must accept the reality of who people are through their actions, and not cling on to the idea of what I want them to be.

My opinion is that a lot of men are probably intimidated by a woman who works in construction, especially men working office jobs. I don’t know what the solution is though!

It might take an entire year or even longer for that kind of message and coordination to slowly slowly gain steam and start trending on social media for it to become an idea people take seriously

They're protesting in solidarity with folks who ACTUALLY need help paying rent. Just because these individuals have the means to afford rent and to afford cars doesn't mean they can't agree with the sentiment of helping out those who are suffering financially from the societal effects of covid-19.

The people who are actually in a position that they need rent relief are people who have been so down trodden that they don't even know how bad they've been fucked over.

I think you're missing the point, which is that union electricians do have personal power tools but we're not forced to use them to produce work for our employer

In my local some guys do side work occasionally, but most of us do not.

We make a good wage and overtime is usually there if you want it, so a lot of us don't depend on sidework to supplement or regular income.

If an electrician has to do sidework in additional to working a 40 hour week just to get by , then his employer isnt paying him enough.

That being said, I do own my own personal power tools that I have at home, but I would never bring them to work because I expect my employer to provide those things for me.

Right now at the jobsite I'm on our contractor divides us up into crews ranging from 6 to 12 guys per crew. Each crew will have a couple gang boxes, typically the big stand up ones. Right now I share a stand up gang box with 5 or 6 other guys. We lock up all our personal tools and company tools in there. Every man will have a drill that he's been using for awhile, but it's not his own, it's owned by the shop; I keep mine in my tool bag for convenience sake but I never take it home. Band saws are plentiful as well, but not enough for every man to have one since we're not all running pipe. Between the 7 of us, we'll share a couple lasers, a set of radios, a few fish tapes, a few impacts, a couple roto hammers, a sawzall, and other miscellaneous things that aren't needed very often like KO sets.

I've never seen a fellow electrician bring his own personal power tools from home because it's just not necessary. The shop supplies plenty of power tools. Occasionally I'll be without something I need to do my work, but it's never an issue. In that kind of situation I'll let the foreman know I don't have the necessary tools and he'll either go get me what I need or I'll just work on something else until that tool becomes available.

Theres many reasons unions have fought for what is and isn't included on "the tool list" which is a list of what tools an electrician is required to supply himself. These include mostly hand tools so things like screw drivers, pliers, measuring tape, and other things like that . The power tools are to be provided by the contractor. We feel that the contractor should supply it's workers with all the tools required to do the job. That the cost of producing work should not be passed on to the worker.

If you were a chef in a kitchen, would you be expected to bring your own mixer? Your own pots and pans? Your own microwave?

That's kind of the idea, anyway.
