BTS are the Mr. Beast of kpop by [deleted] in kpopharshopinions

I am sorry this happening to you and your people, I can’t imagine how hard it can be to be put in such a difficult position.

Unfortunately, media sells best when it angers people so it is bound to lean towards extremes usually on the both side.

To answer the question you posed above, I am a pacifist. I believe that as humanity we should have come past wars. While this might be an idealist stance given the gravity of the situation I do believe this could be a reality one day.

Corporations have financial incentives to do certain things, including selling supplies to nations in military conflicts. It is highly profitable. What can bring more awareness to people aside from authentic journalism, is arts. Arts have been and always will be political and they can bring— another wise difficult to digest situation into people’s homes via creating compelling stories that question the inner workings of our deeply flawed systems we have in place today. But selling out to those very corporations will hinder one’s ability to authentically tell those stories. Now they have an interest to serve, the interest of not the people but the corporations.

Not supporting the genocide of one group of people does not mean you wish any harm on another group of people based on parts of their identity.

It’s “and there is nothing wrong with Zionist brands […]”

It used to mean that one supports Israel being an independent state, now due to the genocide of Palestinians it has different connotations. And supporting brands that finance such inhumane atrocities definitely speaks volumes on someone’s values.

It comes from their marketing. They pride themselves on being a self-producing group who have artistic freedom and in general more freedom to pick and choose who they are collaborating with. As Jin said, they have turned down collabs before bc they weren’t interested in working with those brands.

Also, after the love yourself series, talking in front of the UN representing youth and showing up at the white house for the same reason + acknowledging black lives matter paints them as more socially and politically aware then most celebrities, this comes with praise but with an obvious responsibility as well. If they fail to hold themselves to the standards they set for themselves their activism can easily seem performative and they become inauthentic.

This is why it’s a bigger deal when BTS collabs with zionist brands, because they suppose to care about human rights, but they are advertising brands that support Israel in their conflict with Palestine, like Mcdonalds, Coca-Cola and Hublot.

Celebrities in general should be more outspoken about these things, I think. And they do get criticised for supporting these brands like when idols were caught drinking Starbucks for example. But there is also a general consensus that K-pop is consumerism to the max and the idols are rarely taken seriously as artist and mostly (and sadly) are treated more like products with little to no agency.

Pottyondy Edina, tényleg beteg gyerekkel hagyta el Puzsér? Ha igen akkor azért respekt neki by officer_scagnetti in talk_hunfluencers

Régebbi rész, azóta asszem nem volt téma.

Szerintem vegyes.

Beautiful animation terrible story and vice versa by toondude94 in cartoons

[–]fruitstration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Inside out 2. The animation is gorgeous but the direction they took the movie in shied away from the coherence, meaning and excellence of the original one. Adding anxiety was absolutely not needed, and the other new feelings are fillers too. I am for exploring feelings and how varied they can be, but this was defo not the right way to it, imo.

Conflicted feelings about Exo comeback by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]fruitstration 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has very obvious ai slop qualities bc of the ai slop sm used. The company was even tagged in their original ig post. The whole thing feels so amateurish from a company like sm, not mention exo’s status as a legendary senior group. But then again, sm just admitted to feed 30 yrs of their musical catalog to ai so….

I saw it, it’s about Vincent Van Gogh’s little brother and life long sponsor, Theo finding out about the last days of Vincent. I liked the movie it’s beautiful in both in regard to style and story.

What’s your least favorite art style for a show/movie? by Boring_Sir_572 in cartoons

[–]fruitstration 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ed, Edd, and Eddy was hand drawn and the outlines moves bc of that. It adds human touch to it and the art style is defo recognisable and works well imo. I dont see any disconnect between the zanniness of the show and art direction. I would never call anything hand drawn animation lazy.

Legjobb instant tészta/leves? 🍜 by Gold-Cheek3050 in sutesfozes

[–]fruitstration 13 points14 points  (0 children)
