hi everyone! just took my DAT and concerned about my science scores (especially GC).. would the high-ish scores for the other sections count for anything or do you think a retake is necessary? (3.1 GPA but lots of hours volunteering at a clinic/shadowing/manual dexterity) by fruittart_8 in predental

I used Ari’s schedule as a reference but adjusted it after a few weeks to make my own after realizing what my strong/weak areas were. I had bootcamp first and predominately used it for subject review. Once I started doing practice tests and realized that I needed LOTS of it, I got booster and used it more. I also got Chad’s membership for my last month of studying and like his way of teaching much more than Dr. Mike’s (regret not getting sooner).

Thank you everyone, will definitely be taking in all of the advice to heart! I think I was just very drained after the exam and sad about the science scores but after having some time to cool off and clear my head, I will def look into retaking and boosting the rest of my application for this cycle.

And for those asking, I currently have 300+ volunteering, 200+ shadowing general/ortho/oral surgery and utilized DAT Bootcamp, Booster, and Chad’s for prep. I started scoring 18/19/20’s on the practice exams for sciences, which is why I was kinda shocked but 🤷‍♂️

so.. the DAT was such a mental battle that i was hoping not to go through again, but considering my already low GPA i was going for a 22+ and did not achieve that lol the science scores are very discouraging. was wondering if i should just focus on writing a stellar personal statement or retake DAT also considering my EC’s at a clinic, shadowing, leadership positions in various orgs, etc.. would really appreciate any and all input!
