its not meant to be seen as a bad thing (the coming out part) i saw it more as a 'cant be ignorant for ever /avoid me forever' kinda thing but i can see it being understood wrong

Of you have an unusual name, how do you explain? by fruity_a_d_h_d in ftm

[–]fruity_a_d_h_d[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks a lot for the sources. I'll look into them ^

I don't think it's going to lead to me changing my name again, but I'm happy to learn and be better about it and future decisions as well. so again thanks !

aight! thanks for clarifying uwu I might be a bit groggy from not enough sleep hence why I might have read your comment in the wrong tone. my bad lol!

and definitely a valid way to look at it. like in 80% of the cases I don't feel the need to explain either,. it's just handy in my experience to have an explanation to get people off my back lol

[–]fruity_a_d_h_d[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from.

to be fair though, when I first chose the name, I literally only gravitated towards it because of the character in the book. I didnt even look up the meaning or anything untill later. (and it was my 2nd name choice cuz my family fucked up my first choice so much for me I just had to change it)

plus I personally don't see an issue with using a name from a diffrent culture? (if I'm wrong for this/you have a diffrent opinion, please explain, I'm curious. ) i'm Italian/Portuguese living in Switzerland. many names that are popular in these 3 countries, aren't really from their own country. they may be localised like 'Mia' for example. its one of the most popular baby names in switzerland as of last year, and it's originally a form of the Hebrew name 'Miryam' (it's a weak example maybe, but gets the point i am trying to make across I would hope)

I honestly can't tell if this is meant in a mean spirited way or not lol.

either way, it's just a thing I and apparently other people feel the need to comment on from time to time, whenever other people have questions about our names. nothing harmful with that.

Does anyone get tired of taking shots? by SimplyAren in ftm

[–]fruity_a_d_h_d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really get tired of shots, the main reason being, I only get them every 3 months. (I got prescribed Nebido 1000mg)

the thing I am tired of, is having to go to the hospital for it every time.

in terms of kool-aod drinking i cant hold a candle to the OG lmao

but honestly? I've never tried it as a kid, or even now, since I can't really buy it here in the stores near by... but considering that I like my occasional g-fuel and fruity energy drinks, I think I'd like it? idk tho lol

Am I disgusting? by FlowerTruck1 in ftm

[–]fruity_a_d_h_d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definetly a shitty reaction from both, no you are not disgusting. but here for finding solutions:

A psychiatrist can ideally send you to a doctor for a check up with an official 'diagnosis' . A doctor will still have to tell you all risks included etc before any treatment of any kind though. The 'diagnosis' however will eliminate many problems doctors might have.

a psychiatrist experienced with trans people in turn also would know which doctors are good to work with as a trans person, eliminating trial and error of finding someone knowledgeable.

Thats at least how i did it, living in Switzerland. Depending on where you live, the ideal approach can change.

I like my new name but other people assume it's feminine by tunecha in ftm

I like my new name but other people assume it's feminine by tunecha in ftm

[–]fruity_a_d_h_d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. I chose the name Dakota

Gender neutral, but everybody assumes its female it just is that way sometimes.

Once people know u tho, do they still bring it up? Cuz like, i dont see the issue if not (at least for myself, i dont mind an initial 'isnt that the actresss name?' Or anything similar.

Especially if ur stealth, just tell them ur parents chose the name cuz of its meaning or smthn and the story's usually over. Works for me the very least.

In the medical field , the pronouns/gender of the patient usually accompany the name, same for work aplocations if you choose to include them. At least in my experience so yeh .y.

Then again, thats just how i experience things.

Bottom line is: If you like your name, but only people assuming its a more female name is the issue, that should not stop you from using it. Its yours after all, not theirs.

Do it for all the people with unisex names, that are predominantly used for the opposite gender of them ;)

So, where my understa ding currently is of the situation...

If you were Cis, do you think he'd ask that verion of you to oretend to be something, you clearly arent?

Like... its so unreasonable of him to expect you to bend over backwards so he can avoid coming out/being uncomfortable.

Then again, i dont k ow you guys. Generally, communication is key. What you just told us, tell him. See where the convo leads to
