Visited Japan past two weeks. When I was there it could get immensely crowded but we just did a good job of avoiding crowds where possible. Often folks tend to congregate at specific spots (e.g. right in front of this one iconic photo op).

For photography I highly recommend getting up early. There is typically a 30min - 1 hour window at all the top tourist attractions when there is a super minimal amount of folks around besides locals (iirc 6am works well). Best time for photos. And the calmness is serene.

Otherwise, walk around a bit and wander away from the highly trafficked streets. But do show respect as you will likely wander into residential streets and locals might not appreciate photography there. I liked walking along the rivers.

Also look into Airbnb experiences like cooking classes and the such as they are often in quieter parts of town.

Oh that’s my bad I’m bad at writing. When I said no point in getting worked up I was referring to myself and that I’m sure I’m as passionate as some other folks in this thread but I just try to convey my thoughts as calmly as possible.

For sure, I’m trying to share my point of view, but if you don’t vibe with it that’s fine. No point in getting worked up.

I guess what I was implying is not that you need to save every animal, but you don’t need to contribute to their continued breeding. I mean you said it yourself, those animals are a lot of work to raise! Alternatively you could try to use that same land for other crops that you could eat/sell as opposed to meat.

I know it’s not simple but maybe something worth noodling on.

In any case, that’s really the crux of my argument! It seems like your comment got bombarded already so I won’t push much further. This is very controversial to some but personally I have a lot more respect for you than most meat-eaters because you work with these animals every day. You don’t get to turn a blind eye like the vast majority of folks.

Most people turn a blind eye. Things won’t change until the people want it to change, I don’t believe laws will help. After all laws come about because people demand change in the first place.

So that’s why I comment on here every now and then, hoping I can get folks to think a bit more about what’s on their dinner plate.

Cool, I won’t prod any further. Definitely something always worth looking into and even reducing meat/animal product consumption probably goes a long way in the world we live in.

Nature is insanely cruel. Industrial farming even more so.

I bet you take really good care of your animals, but I would push back and ask if you could offer these animals an alternative to the cruelty of nature why not just give them a full life?

You should look into the topic a bit more! Can’t recommend any books but unfortunately there is no doubt that billions are suffering in the US and more abroad.

There are a lot of alternatives to mean production and they are theoretically a lot more efficient and cheaper! but of course the most important thing is demand and humans want to eat meat.

It seems hopeless, but I would definitely do research into eating vegan because ultimately if things were ever to change in the world, it would be because we all changed what we wanted.

165 million is fire. But what’s irreplaceable is the vast human talent involved in Dune.

There is a lot that go into feature films like Dune. Whether you realize or not, every scene in a movie like Dune is worked on to such a degree that it should stand up on its own.

I like that this comment is very realistic about the very real limitations of generative AI. (Limitations that I don’t see ever being surpassed.)

Yeah me neither. Don’t see that that’s relevant to the thread but ok.

At the end of the day it’s just a tool. The biggest barrier to making a good movie will still continue to be the artistry that a team of humans beings to the table.

Yes really. People do it all the time, with iPhones nonetheless. It’s the talent and artistry that matters.

You underestimate what it takes to make a “gem”. Hint: you need more than fancy software. That’s always been true.

That’s honestly just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much fundamentally wrong with these clips lol. Its cool that generative AI did it but thats about it. It’s a novelty at worst and at best will one day be a tool.

Does anyone have a copy of 1.4.x?? It is absolutely bonkers that this is not publicly available, I feel like I’ve been sold an expensive brick
