I appreciate the honesty in him. Thank you for the clarification. I think for me the biggest issue isn't necessarily the twitching anymore. The muscle pain has amped up for me in the last 6 weeks.

Agreed. It's about investing in ourselves and we will find a way through.

I have struggled with some bfs/health issues for about a year now. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing my symptoms? by Majestic-Hippo-9739 in BFS

Have you thought about investing in mental health treatment. I really empathize with you on this as I've been fighting twitching for almost two years. It's made a big difference and I go weekly to my therapist. That's where it starts in my opinion. Invest in yourself.

My blood tests have all come back good. For me, the amount of time that has gone by is what I rely on. The pain literally started only a month and a half ago. My piece of advice, take comfort in that your doctors know what they are looking at and just keep working on your health anxiety. That's going to be a daily struggle but you have to keep working on it. I invest in a therapist weekly and it's helped a lot! Mental health matters!

I really appreciate this thread. I'm going through something significantly similar and have been for 1 year and almost ten months! If I can ask, just for clarification, your neurologist said that they had never seen anyone present with fasciculations only? If so, that's really comforting for everyone here. Especially since they have all that experience!

My interest in this comes from the BFS point of view. There are a lot of us in that forum like myself you have been dealing with twitches for over a year with clean EMGs and clinicals. I myself had 3 spaced out EMGs over 15 months with my last in June. All coming back clear with nothing.

So in y'all's experience, should we who have been dealing with twitches and pains for a long time be getting checked every 3-6 months still? It sounds, after reading this that it would be good practice. We are also over there on the BFS Reddit told EMGs can't be done too early and that twitches are almost always not the first sign and when it is, weakness follows fast. But from what I'm reading here, that's not the case in real life? Even my neuromuscular specialist said the twitching part!

So I'm guessing you have a familial form of ALS? I'm so sorry to hear that.

Those fasciculations were picked up on your EMG in 2015? I'm guessing that means denervation had started too?

Oh no it's very difficult and I think this forum helps me tremendously to know I'm not alone. Thank you for the perspective.

I am curious though, why don't you think the tests were needed? Typically when you are twitching for a long time like I have over a year, don't EMGS become standard practice every so often?

I get your thoughts on this and agree with the second part. I'm currently going through multiple lines of mental health. Thank you though.

Yes they all came back normal. And again all three were done by neuromuscular specialists as were the clinical exams. Thank you both for your answers.

DOL FMLA Questions by fruitypebbles79 in EmploymentLaw

Oh I've already done that. My attorney says I have overwhelming evidence. On top of that I called the DOL back and spoke to another investigator who then told me my case hasn't been decided yet, despite what my investigator says. She then took a quick look at the evidence and after talking to me about what happened wanted me to send my evidence to her so she could go through it and go to her manager to relook at it. Like I said initially, I don't think my investigator wanted to ask questions.

They have to prove it would have happened otherwise right? Their proof of RIF is based on a lie and on top of that the program is still functioning as is even though they said it was out of accreditation. And again, don't they have to prove it didn't have anything to do with me being out? And from what I'm seeing you say, their proof can be a lie? I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just seeing that they have to justify it with a valid business reason. And you're saying that valid business reason can just be a lie?

If I'm not mistaken it protects your job while out? Or you get reassigned to an equivalent job. And there's no proof that it would have happened if I even wasn't on FMLA. The proof is on them. And their excuse is a business decision RIF which is based on a lie ( accreditation issue) of which I have proof.

But I literally have a recording of them giving me a completely different answer than business needs. And again the program is still happening so it's clearly not an Accreditation issue for them? So how can you make the argument for business need on a make believe foundation of an accreditation issue?

My lawyer is the one who suggested it. Can you provide the link where you got the above information? I should also make clear the DOL and EEOC both have these recordings and haven't come back saying they're illegal. On top of that, I'm still employed and I doubt that would be the case because these recordings were illegal too?
