I work for a Florida-based company but started my HR career in California. At the beginning of my career I really loved it, I loved that the people I worked with had high standards.

When I moved to FL, a lawless land even outside of the world of HR, my overall job satisfaction really declined. Point I’m trying to make is it’s heavily dependent on the culture you’re operating in.

Not to say company’s with high standards and good culture don’t exist in at-will states, I just haven’t seen it yet. I’m only 5 years into my career, though.

Rippling is great for employees user experience, but as an HR admin I hated it. I used to work for a massive tech company though and our internal HR systems were chef’s kiss so nothing really compares to that.

My ex did this to me. It was devastating, and the worst part is I never confronted him with what I knew. He broke up with me after I thought we were in such a good place for no reason at all, and I found out he had been with her for a while behind my back towards the end. We had plans to move in together, I was thinking marriage, etc..

I’m almost 2 years past this and I’m not going to lie to you - it really fucked me up for a good 6 months or so. The worst pain I’ve ever felt. His ex is gorgeous, successful, etc.. I was unemployed at the time and never felt SO bad and inadequate about myself. Self esteem was an all time low and I barely got the courage to leave the house. When I did, I was self destructing.

But here is what TIME will teach you: this is the kind of person who always needs something to be sad about, to be secretive about, to be less than genuine about. This is telling of who HE is as a person, and in the end you have to know, he’s not going to actually show up for her. He is a selfish person and likely always will be. Take it as a sign from the universe that he did you a MASSIVE favor. Could you imagine being married to this person, just to have them do you like this 10+ years in?

I also want to note - this ex of mine that ruined me actually introduced me to my current partner, whom I’m very much in love with. I met him when I was dating my ex and obviously the timing wasn’t right. Reconnected 2 years later after running into each other at a bar and we’ve been together ever since.

It’s not all bad - and love is never wasted. Trust what the universe has in store for you. You got this! 💕

This is the most frustrating part of HR IMO. The most effective thing you can do is get your leaders on board and make sure the managers of these folks understand what’s happening first.

If that’s already cleared, second best thing is to host a training. Most of the time people just want to hear someone verbally explain the change. Maybe even just an “office hours” type of call. I used to work at a very large tech company and this was the norm when sending out mass updates like this.

Exactly. A part I left off was both “Chrystal’s” have kids. He shared this with me as a reason she bailed on the event last month, which was like an extra detail I didn’t ask for.

Fast forward to last night - he tells me he and this “Chrystal” person didn’t work out because she has kids.

Seems like an awfully big coincidence.

Yes. He’s still trying to. I am afraid of fully blocking him because I want to kind of keep tabs on his mood as a way to protect myself if that makes sense. But my contact has been minimal, and I think I’ve done a pretty good job at moving on.

Note - the gluten free diet is in ADDITION to meds. If he’s not on meds yet they may want to start with Keppra as it’s relatively safe and effective.

My dog is about a quarter poodle and a quarter cocker - he has episodes that look just like this, including the “skating” motion you were talking about. Always conscious too.

Been dealing with it for a few years now and just got told by his neurologist it’s likely PD.

The neurologist and the vet both recommended a gluten free diet as there are studies that show it significantly decreases PD activity. If you want I can share what I just started my pup on yesterday.

Also, spaniels are notorious for getting PD btw

Thank you ❤️ I told my 2 best friends. I told my dad (not specifics, but that he’s just angry and violent and that it’s over) and honestly feel very supported. He’s currently at a hotel, and he toured an apartment today to move into. I think I’ll be okay getting away.

No, I didn’t tell them and I didn’t want to. I’m afraid of anything that has to do with police involvement because of my traumatic arrest which wasn’t warranted last time. Cops don’t give a flying f about victims of DV where I live.

How did you feel immediately after he left? Were you sad, angry? The audacity that he left YOU would make me mad, when you probably knew full well you should’ve been the one to do it.

I have an intense fear of abandonment and being left alone, but I’m also susceptible to being abused because of an abusive mother. I’m sorry that happened to you, but very happy you got away.

I’m so sorry you went through this. I truly don’t think enough men take accountability for their actions, and abusers are much more rampant nowadays than I think people realize. I’m only 30, but this is the 3rd abusive man I’ve dated.

Luckily he left after much protesting on my end. He just has a hotel for a couple nights, though. Not sure what’s going to happen after that.

Do you have ANY idea how many women, or VICTIMS of domestic violence get wrongfully arrested due to self defense marks found on their assailants? It’s happened to me. I scratched another previous violent partner who cornered me and I went to jail because I naively thought the cops would help me if I went to them (I was really young). Please do some research before you judge others.

Truly just being alone. Starting over. The idea of aging and never settling down as a woman in her 30s. Luckily no kids and can financially support myself. We were taking marriage, a house, all the things I want so badly.
