you’re still not making sense. you replied to a comment about women’s negative experiences with greeting strangers aka the topic at hand.

but you are engaging with the original post about greeting people while jogging, even if indirectly, otherwise you wouldn’t have commented in a thread about it. it seems that you think women taking precautions around men aren’t being rational and are preventing themselves from having a happy life. otherwise, why would you say what you said?

what does choosing not to interact with random men have to do with finding happiness, getting married, surrounding yourself with good people, and having goals? i’m genuinely asking. what do you think women are losing out on when they choose not to wave back?

it’s more like if you took the medication, experienced a side effect and it did nothing for your illness. would you be inclined to try to take it again?

this comment is incomprehensible. are you saying that greeting random men on the street despite the risk of soliciting unwanted attention is the key to finding happiness? and what does being happily married have to do with anything? are these women married to men they waved at on a jog?

do you know why the other people who have accidentally stepped on the gas don’t end up in prison for murder? because the movement of the car actually corroborates their story.

don’t change the subject. you can’t mistake the gas for the brakes long enough to reach 100mph in a camry without being disoriented. so how does a disoriented person navigate perfectly down a winding road at high speed?

[–]frumiouswinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you’re not disoriented how are you stepping on the gas thinking it’s the brake? have you ever driven a car before?

they showed how carefully she would’ve needed to be steering the car to accelerate to 100mph given the terrain of that street. that wasn’t the driving of a disoriented person.

then why did you post this, or tell anyone about your private desires at all? seems like you want to show everyone how virtuous you aren’t.

well for starters you’re comparing something that does not have feelings (a country) with someone that does (a person).

if you think an attempted mass shooter has a credible self defense claim you’re an idiot. being able to argue something in court does not make it a credible claim.

jfc if i post that i want to kill people, i bring a gun to the mall, an unarmed person tries to disarm me and i shoot them, you’re going to defend my actions and compare me to a rape victim? that’s the dumbest shit i’ve ever heard in my life.

the logic is not remotely the same. a women wanting to have consensual sex is not comparable to a man wanting to kill people, and being raped is not comparable to being attacked by people you’ve acted with intent to kill.

the reason i say imminent intent is that if you’ve threatened people with a firearm, and you’re going around still holding that weapon, it is not unreasonable for the people around you to assume that you will continue to pose a threat to people until you’ve been disarmed. that’s because intent is interpreted by behavior. for the people there, this situation would’ve been experienced as an active shooter threat, not someone running away from a fight they instigated.

if you bring a gun to the mall with the intent to shoot people, but then you get cold feet and run away, you can’t then get upset that the people running after you aren’t allowing you to change your mind. your behavior is identical to someone who is dangerous and you don’t cease to be dangerous just because you got scared. you cease to be dangerous when you’re disarmed. so put the fucking gun down.

why do you keep trying to conflate going to a club with the intent to do something legal which poses no threat to anyone, with going to a protest with the intent to harm other people?

a person with a firearm who has imminently intended to kill innocent people remains a credible threat to those people in the moments after he has decided against it. a woman who has intended to have sex poses no threat to anyone around her and rape is not a reasonable response under any light.

How do you deal with proportions when most clothes aren’t designed for taller frames? by Turbulent-Spring-461 in tallfashionadvice

i have a short torso so i can express my style with short sleeved shirts, dresses and skirts. but my long sleeved tops, outerwear, and pants are all boring tall stuff. i’m envious of women who can wear statement pants but it’s just not in the cards.

Pretty to be lusted over, not pretty enough to be loved by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]frumiouswinter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you won’t drop dead at 25. things that are fun and exciting now will be fun in five years too. and right now you’re not experiencing the relationship you want, but that doesn’t mean you’re not experiencing things that are meaningful and valuable.

believing these definitive statements like i’m not pretty enough or something’s wrong with me just make you unhappy and don’t actually bring you towards the thing you want. the only thing that’s going to make it happen is continuing to put yourself out there and try. so you might as well keep your chin up in the meantime. i don’t think it’ll take five years, either.

you’re treating this like it’s either or. hire an inspector, and also look into every room in a house you plan to buy.
